When is something going to be done about this murderous blood-thirsty warmongering nation.

They commit war crime after war crime after war crime......and yet "we" do nothing other than arm them to carry on killing babies.

Its some kind of fucked up irony that this Jewish nation commits war crimes that Hitler himself would have baulked at.

Makes me sick.

Think there is still a lot of sympathy for the nation based on their own tragic history and their historic persecution.

We have to put that from our minds though and deal with the here and now and the way Israel is behaving now towards its neighbours.

Israel unfortunately still has large support in the US and with that show of strength behind them it is going to be really hard to do anything constructive and change opinions and mindsets.

I don't really know where to start on this. Nobody is claiming that Hamas are in the right here, but Israel claiming that this is self-defence is unbelievable. I tried reading up on the history behind it. It really is difficult to see where the facts stop and the propaganda starts.

Ultimately Israel have taken this way too far. Even the BBC are struggling to cover up the war crimes now. The only way I can think to describe it, would be if a child threw a stone at your house, so "naturally" you pull out the Rocket Launcher and blow him up, along with his family, friends, and anyone within a mile radius!

They're as bad as each other, the civilian deaths on the Israeli side would be far higher without the Iron Dome. Hamas don't want peace, they love having their own killed for the propaganda.

OK, I may have over-egged it for effect....What I should have said is "Its some kind of fucked up irony that this Jewish nation commits war crimes that Hitler himself would have been proud of"

Fact remains, Israel is a rogue terror state & the UK continues to arm the cunts to the teeth....

I remember the Six Day War in 1967 (it was the same week as my birthday).
The trouble with Israel is that they are now classed as some sort of Super-Power because they have nuclear technology. The USA and UK don't want to upset them because they sell a lot of armaments to them. I hate what they are doing to Palestine. This war has gone on far too long. Yasser Arafat must be turning in his grave.

At what point do the Oppressed become the Oppressor?

Is it best to sum it up as two wrongs don't make a right? Or is that far too simple?

Hamas/Palestine reminds me of creeping up on an untethered sleeping Rottweiler and flicking him in the nuts ... And then act surprised when he bites your face off .. Why they shoot crappy tiny mortars at the Israelis mystifies me . That being said , there is absolutely no justification in the over reaction and killing of the innocent which is happening now .

Yeah...except if that Rottweiler had spent the last few decades bulldozing your homes, killing your family & stealing your land, and your only means of even slightly hurting the Rottweiler was to flick him in the nuts....you probably still would wouldn't you?

It seems to me that , until both sides can put religion aside and concentrate on a proper political process this is they way it's always going to be.

It's been going on for millennia , so the chances of it being fixed in my tiny lifetime is non existent unfortunately .

It's not about religion though. This is pure oppression. Nothing less. The Israelis jack-booted their way into Palestine and took it for themselves, leaving very little for the Palestinian people. I don't normally want to take sides in other nations conflicts but I have to make a stance for the Palestinian people. They need the UN to recognise the war crimes of Israel! I HATE oppression!

I'm listening to an ex chief of Mossad exclaiming that HAMAS have been declared Terrorist by Numoerous others .

The Isreali's didn't want to talk to FATAH who were the elected representatives of the Palestinians .They do not want to deal with HAMAS who are now the Elected democratic representitives of the Palestians ,the Isrealis don't do talks they do Assassinations of leaders of these political bodies ,they do Land Grabs,Starvation of resources and subjegation of the people they removed from their own land ,Just my opinion.

Yes, so balanced that 1 whole point says the Israeli's aren't helping themselves!

To be fair he raises quite a few good points. However, not entirely balanced still. My personal favourite is the comment about Hamas telling people to stay in their homes, rather than evacuate. You know those massive spaces of free land they can just evacuate to. Social media should mostly be taken with a pinch of salt, people will "like" or "retweet" anything that supports their argument. However when you start to pick certain things up on twitter (I mean from journalists out there, not the neighbour's cat who tweeted a picture) that news channels don't seem interested in, it does make you question what their purpose is?

This is a humanitarian issue. Nothing to do with who is right or wrong. They are both wrong.

So.... Your saying that if palistinians were Jewish they would still be in this mess ?
Or if Israelies were mostly Muslim ?

I know us humans can find anything to fight about , given half the chance, but IMO religion is a large part of the personal justification of it .

And as lewys33 says , they are both wrong

So tell me Turly, when has religion been mentioned in this conflict? It's all about claiming land. It belongs to Palestine. The Israelis jack-booted their way into it and stole it. Absolutely nothing to do with religion. Just because Israel is a Hebrew nation and Palestine mainly Muslim, this has no bearing on what has been going on since 1947.

though the the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is largely a conflict over land and can be resolved through the application of international law, religious groups do play several important roles in the ongoing crisis. Fanatical groups use their religions to perpetuate the conflict, while peaceful religious groups use the teachings of their religions to call for peace.
Although the American media is rife with articles on the dangers of Islamic fundamentalism, it is important to be aware of the role of two other fanaticisms – Jewish and Christian – in this conflict.

The conflict isn’t territorial (even though it has many territorial symptoms, and we fight over every acre and every house), but a war of religion, a clash of ideologies. And such a conflict can’t be solved by drawing lines on a map. To Muslims, the Land of Israel will forever be waqf land

http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/The_Jewish_Claim_To_The_Land_Of_Israel.html

The Jewish people base their claim to the land of Israel on at least four premises: 1) God promised the land to the patriarch Abraham; 2) the Jewish people settled and developed the land; 3) the international community granted political sovereignty in Palestine to the Jewish people and 4) the territory was captured in defensive wars.

seems pretty religious to me .

The Balfour declaration, one big mistake.. endless trouble ever since.

There is definitely an element of religion there. Whether you class it as 1% or a 100% is a different matter. The muslims hate the Jewish and vice a versa. Israel have done themselves no favours though. Wiping out over 1300 (as it currently stands) people of which most are civilians is hardly going to make the palestinians want to skip and hold hands with the Israeli's is it? Again it works both ways, and firing rockets in to Israel isn't helping (albeit comparable to throwing a paper aeroplane at a Lion). This is just creating further generations of hatred.

Fair play to them, we'll forget Hamas saying that their intention is to kill all Jews shall we,and the Jews should meekly go to meet their fate as the six million did at the hands of the civilised west, well they aint havin it and why the fuck should they? Just look to another part of the middle east at the moment to see what real war crimes are or closer to home with with organ harvesting from prisoners all ignored at the moment. Why is that:thinking about:cant be that we dont want to upset the sensibilities of a certain group could it.

Is it just a case of natural progression though Houch?
Bear in mind that many would argue the very nation we resolutely defend & love is one that in relative terms "jack-booted" it's way around the world to form an Empire covering 1/3 of the world's surface - maiming & killing vast numbers in the name of Christianity (or for money) & has culminated in...the Commonwealth Games!

Never understood the legitimacy of Israel. Oh your magic man said it's yours did he?

That's funny, my magic man says half of New York is mine. Maybe a bit of Chelsea as well.

Fuck off. It's theft pure and simple. The international community should never have been guilted into giving them someone else's land. How the hell would you like it if some religious group suddenly decided your house was their "holy land". I suppose you'd just sit back and take it would you?

And don't even get me started on how the Israelis have acted since being given Israel.

Fucking religion. If you wanna believe in sky people go right ahead, but you shouldn't expect international law to take you seriously.

Oh right. So the rule is "if someone's done it before it's OK" is it?

I thought the whole point of us giving back most of the empire after the war was because we accepted it wasn't right.

England...& more latterly Britain have historically marauded their way around the world, fighting spears with guns initially, & it snow-balled from there.

I was however, empathising with the Palestinian's situation - NOT Hamas' way of dealing with it. Israel are powerful & love to kick-ass. Hamas, if they had got nukes before Israel did, wouldn't have hesitated in nuking Israel out of existence. Israel are at least responsible with them (so far)

IMO as per usual it's the same old situation as every other conflict - those that suffer most are the same people that gain the least when all the fighting is done. So I feel equally sorry for the Israeli people encouraged to settle in the buffer zone that get repeatedly attacked.
Let's face it - 99% of the world wants & can live in peaceful co-existence. The love of money & power (often disguised through the name of religion) is the root of most evil that occurs.

In the ancient times peoples were wiped-out so there was rarely any comeback. Since peace treaties came about little factions have always seemingly sprang up & carried on the fight usually when it's far far too late. Then they're labelled terrorists.
The Crusaders...Vikings...Romans...All have terrorised communities in seek of wealth.
Hence it appears to me at least exactly as I called it...unpalatable, unpleasant as it might be - natural progression

At no point have I said any of it was okay.

As far as "giving back the Empire" is concerned - it came about when we realised that now the Empire members had wealth they could buy weapons & shoot back at us...& we would face an ever growing ride & become much poorer. So we gave them up.

So why does the UK still lay claim to the Falklands (belongs to Argentina), Gibraltar (belongs to Spain), Northern Ireland (belongs to Eire)?
