We will prob get around £250k

Elite Player Performance Plan - Wikipedia

Seems to suggest £10k per appearance, plus additional fees depending on how long he was at our academy before turning pro. He has 36 appearances to date (not sure if the cup games are considered).

So yeah perhaps a touch more than 250k and certainly not even touching 500k. You would think there would be further top-ups for achieving milestones... alas not.

I think we also receive further staged payments when he's made appearances for the buying club, in batches of ten I believe.
Which of course can be easily suppressed through loans etc.

Edit ;- enjoyed watching those highlights again.

Yes - those who don't think George is all that - £12m rated Jacob Murphy being looked at by Newcastle (yet a number of our fans gave him dogs abuse - yes, he frustrated me at times - but we are not always the best judges of young footballers' potential. Even I can see George has potential. Incidentally, I would have though a PL club might have to pay a bit more than if he ended up at e.g. Blackburn (don't know why I think that, but would have thought any panel would be influenced by the ££££££s floating around in the PL)
Please don't compare the two. Murphy was on another level.

Murphy was quick, but also played alongside AA, Ryan Kent etc when we were playing well. George isn't as quick, but appears to have good technique. He has also had to play alongside some much worse players than Murphy did.

Didn't Joe Cole say he was the best young player at the club ability wise when Armstrong, Murphy, Kent and Maddison were here? George was always in and out of the team under previous managers, I always felt he needed a run of games. He's not 21 until next March either so I can see why a club higher up would want to take him with the ability he's shown but I don't think a move to Premier League would be good for his career

Tbf, I think Joe Cole was only talking about the ccfc academy products when he said that.

I think it would be a massive mistake if Thomas went to Leicester. It's the same for the majority of footballer's in the game but, he's a player that especially needs a consistent run of first-team games otherwise his form drastically dips. This was evident in the first half of last season where he looked consistently poor. Obviously it didn't help with the awful team around him, but he still failed to stand out. However, once we gave him a run of games look how he proved the doubters wrong and ended the season being our top goalscorer. This arguably shows that he's a confidence player, therefore what would the benefit be in being confined to Leicester's Under 23's?

If he was to leave CCFC, he should remain within League 1/League 2; in order to be a constant within a starting XI. Signing for a club any higher and his progress would inevitably suffer. It's obviously biased but I think staying with CCFC would be the right move in his career at this moment in time. If he has a successful season then he can climb the Football League ladder, with or without us. There's no need for him to fall into the same trap as countless footballers who become blinded by the attractive prospects the Premier League has to offer because there's a risk he could become a forgotten entity. Thomas has a massive decision ahead of him over the next couple of weeks but he needs to remember that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

From what i know - from a source at Leicester - there is apparently no interest, and the rumour didn't come from Leicester themselves, although they scouted him for a while.

Thank God we saved £20k by not extending his contract early. More business genius from Sisu.

thought EPPP was for academy players only.
still a tribunal system for players under 23 who are out of contract. thought the logic was we offer him a new contract so as to increase tribunal value as otherwise team he joins will say we didn't want him anyway.
usually a fixed fee, add-ons for appearances (e.g 10,20,30 games etc and 1st full international, promotion fee if new club gets into PL etc) and often a % of future transfer fee.

He's played 53 times for CCFC and scored 9 goals in all competitions. 42 league games and 5 league goals im sure will be the deciding ones they calculate it on. It's calculated by PFCC not elite player performance plan when I researched it a few weeks back. The clubs try to sort a compensation package, if not resolved it goes to the PFCC.

My guess is 350k with appearance based add on's with sell on clauses added on top.
