Oxford United fans have won their bid to protect the club's Kassam Stadium after it became the first to be listed as a "community asset".

The application by supporters' trust, OxVox, was approved by Oxford City Council and means the group must be notified if the ground is to be sold.

They will then have six months to put together their own bid for the stadium.

This may very well be a good idea for The Ricoh - Im pretty sure we would get the support of Coventry City Council as this might go some way to protecting their investment.
Not sure if this is possible with our stadium but if it is who knows!

Wouldn't make any difference to us though. All that does is prevent it being sold for houses or something. If the club doesn't want to play in it, not a lot of point protecting its existence!

Worst case, it WILL become an exhibition hall (similar to NEC / NIA / O2).

There is FAR TOO MUCH earning potential for the council simply to let it gather dust or knock down and sell to developers!
