Doyle was superb as were all the players. Loved it at the end when they came over to us, it showed to me why I support this club, for all what we've been through we're all in this together.

were you at the game with Gil Lewis B?

Absolutely.

A captains performance throughout, getting the fans onside, and superb afterwards.

Real passion. Acts as though its his home town club.

Agree. I’ve said before I think he will play less now and get his coaching badges and a defo CCFC manager of the future.
Doyle was fantastic with the fans throughout and in all games this season his cajoling of the younger players, his occasional bawling when they make mistakes and his constant discussions with the ref single him out as a great captain.
When we signed him I thought it was a mistake but in all honesty he has been immense and without him I doubt we would have made the playoffs let alone have won so convincingly last night.

i don't know him but I know who he is from his boxing days.
I saw someone with him who looked remarkably like you, and now I know it was!
I'll come over and say hello next time.

I've never seen him show emotion the way he did at the end. You could see how much it meant to him. He's been immense all season.
You could see the passion in him when we equalised at Meadow Lane in the league a few weeks ago, only to then lose, so last night's game would have been incredible for him.

Perfect fit for us. We try to play less ‘route one’ football like some of our rivals (Lincoln and Notts County), and he’s the perfect midfielder for this league. Has the determination to get a limb on every loose ball, tackles hard, but most importantly, is a brilliant captain. We were really lucky to get him as he’d just won the league with Pompey, and with our young team, he’s a glue that holds the team together.

Will be interesting to see if he starts still in L1 (if we get there).

I'll be surprised if Doyle plays in the final - he's likely to have a badly bruised chest the amount he was beating it at the end - that said, he could have broken a few ribs and he'd still play!

Was that in the pub at Ruddington ?

Saw you just prior to boarding the coaches.
We didn't go to Ruddington, we went straight to Nottingham. Turned out everyone on our bus wanted to go straight into the town so that's where we ended up.

Yes I saw loads get off to get a train/tram into Nottingham. I had my son with me who likes playing pool, so as I told him about Ruddington we stayed on the coach. Gil is going to give him some boxing sessions, and they got on well as they hadn't met before.

Top man. He sent a text to Juggy last night while we were on the coach last night saying 'Thanks to the fans for the unbelievable support'

To be fair I was wrong about Doyle - he has been a pivotal figure this season

I have to agree. I thought the partnership of Doyle/Hughes all those years (seemed like it anyway) was a reason for our decline as they were constants over a largely poor period.

When he came back, I was therefore not overly enamoured but I guess he’s matured more, probably feels he has unfinished business and has grasped this captaincy with both hands.

Fair play to him. And MR for bringing him back.

I don’t think it matters what division they played for us in , Doyle could and probably should be regarded as a club legend with the amount of appearances he’s made and if we get promoted there is no doubt supporters should look at Michael Doyle in the same light that they look at players like mcallister ,Ability aside

355 appearances over 9 years .
Great servant to the club

I know it is easy to say after the event. But I still don't understand why so many were not happy with his signing. The season before he signed for us he was club captain of a side that got promotion. He played nearly every game for them. And many of their supporters didn't want him to leave even though they were going to be playing a level above.
