From 137-2 to 218 all out (after winning the toss). Another fine example of the failings of Bazball! Maybe they were looking at the jaw-dropping scenery.
India 96-0 in reply.

Poor day's cricket with bat & ball. Tour seems more about getting Bairstow to 100 caps than anything. He's done nothing with bat, no replacement called up for Brook & Lawrence just carrying drinks.

I haven’t seen his dismissal today but Bairstow has been getting away with it for a while, the broken leg seems to have taken a bit of his shine away.

Should be his last test really

Outside the openers, the batsmen have really let us down this tour. Stokes and Bairstow in particular
England have been dire ,have been in good positions in this test series and thrown it away. Bairstow and Stokes in particular have been pants. Time to bring in the younger players in my opinion. Time for the likes of Woods and Anderson, Bairstow to make way.

Pure genius, how on earth did you spot that our spin attack was way better than theirs and a complete mismatch

what a win and even better day with the Aussies losing.

Lets hope we get a perfect hatrick of a day and an easy fa cup draw now at home
Stokes and Bairstow might as well have stayed back in the UK. Both have been utter garbage on this tour.

Come the first test in the summer most of that side will be there and the only changes will be in the bowling department where the wizard is likely to return and one or both of the spinners will be out.

Batsmen have failed. Only Crawley and Root have got past 50 at least twice in the whole series. Pope and Pickett just the one big hundred each. Stokes and Bairstow offered little at 5 & 6.
Question was always going to be what would happen if Bazball wasn't working.
Tbh I thought it would be 5-0 but the one win was a bit of a false dawn

Another problem is how many overs will Bashir even bowl before the summer tests with the way season is set up and will he even be needed in some of the Tests.

This is embarrassing. Rightly or wrongly England test sides are judged on performances against Australia and India and we’ve failed against both

Don’t think anyone was expecting them to go to India and win 5-0 but it wasn’t unreasonable to expect more fight than we’ve seen

Depends who they loan him to but none of the wickets early season are going to be helping the spinners. I would be putting Ahmed in before him. Hopefully some of the fine spinners in the under 19’s will be ready for the next trip to India.

Next six tests england should win all six as the West Indies and Sri Lanka aren’t real forces.

Problem remains for all these young spinners County cricket isn't set up for their development. They just won't get overs and often not even game time. Obviously not good for young batsmen either as they're not used to facing decent spin either.

The only solution would be an July or August block of games, spinners are nearly pointless in county cricket and allows county trundlers to take a load of wickets.

surprisingly dead wicket for the time of year - not as if the Durham attack isn't a decent one.
