Yes Brighton were the better team but not till 2nd half did we give them a game. We gave them much too much space down the wings and we didn’t get back to support the full backs. Robins for me left it a little late to make changes but then when we put a premier league side under pressure they looked a little wobbly. We could/should have grabbed a second for a rip roaring finale.
The two headers they scored were largely unchallenged and that was disappointing. But the quality of those headers was premier league standard.
I’m on the coach disappointed we didn’t get a second but happy that we finally gave them a game. If we had played like last 20 v Accrington and Colchester and FGR we would have possibly got 5 or 7 points.

We need to start doing it from the off, not waiting until we are losing.

So what are we thinking for summation on here at 5pm today?

1-0 - Fantastic, well done Robins.

2-0
3-1 Decent effort, heads held high

4-0
5-0 Tried our best, battled all the way

6-0
7-0 Robins out

I am half expecting that even just in losing there will be calls into the post match phone in saying Robins has to go, such is the daftness of football fans.

Absolutely...we would in all probability have lost by a similar margin but they would have known they had been in a hard game. And their fans would have been more nervous.
And most importantly we would have played with passion for the fans who gave their all supporting the players team. Robins should have more faith in the players.

Just how up for it he is and at this club
Woke up at six this morning up for it and hard on himself for missing that last chance
All in a thick Leicester accent .

don't think there's any doubt he'll start next week.
We need 7 points from the next 3 to get the play off hopes back on track.

I thought Clarke-Harris had a very good game. Put himself about well, won fouls, took his chance when it came. If we can get the ball to him then he should get goals in league 2. Better in the air than I thought he was too.

Barett however is an embarrassment, man should be set to fat camp.

Second half we were much better; the early goal knocked us a lot. The difference in quality between the leagues was much more obvious first half but we did much better second half.

Enjoyed the game.
Firstly I hope Coventry get promoted and your eyes are now just on one aim.
From a BHA point of view it was pleasing to see a totally different defence and first starting appearances this season from Ulloa and Locadia.
I had BHA to win 3-1 with LoCadiz and Ulloa scoring, so I am happy.
Very decent and fair comments on the whole of this thread, good suppo r t from your fans, though miffed at your going down chants at the end.....hope you are wrong.
Good luck to you Skyblues.

Thanks for your kind comment, I was disappointed to hear them as well. I was impressed by your support and there was plenty of cov in the 1901. :)

We need to take advantage of the free kicks he wins, all very poor

Concerning the going down chants, We have just lost to Forest Green Rovers, again, so mentally our support hasn't recovered from the shame

JCH looked the only positive to come out of that game. Showed a lot more in that game than he has in his other brief appearances

I was mostly disappointed at how poorly we defended against the wide men. More so the left but the right wasn’t much better

Brighton looked out wide every single time, and if they didn’t ping the passes at first attempt, they’d play it through their midfield until it reached their wide men. Their pass completion stats must have been very high?

Think the only figure we probably got into double figures for was probably offsides

Two headed goals was also disappointing, especially Ulloa’s who was so unmarked he could have cheated the ball down, done 20 keepy uppies and volleyed it in before we'd have even got close.

I guess I didn’t want us to go any further in thecup anyway, so losing 3-1 to a premiership team who were undoubtedly the better team over the entire 90 yet didn’t get out of second gear isn’t too bad!

Chin up.
LFC were at the Amex a month or so back, totally outplayed us, then Chelski who had Hazard worth more than our team that day. They outclassed us.
This result may be a blessing in disguise for you, league 1 with promotion is the best option, the cup is a distraction.

You have a tough run in looking at the programme but hopefully you will scrape enough points to stay up. Nice ground and decent fans. I was surprised how wobbly your defence became when we did apply pressure. Mind you the keeper who came on didn’t inspire those in front of him.

Yeah but your striker who got the 1st is worth more than our whole club. :(

Yep, the goalkeeper brought on was our third choice, decent keeper but has not played since last seasons cup games.
Our defence was completely new, all six of them, so I think they did ok.
I wonder should Coventry just gone for it from the off.
I am not sure that Coventry were really confident.
As I said, good support, a nice day out, decent weather and now you can concentrate on the league.
Hopefully I can come back on here in May and congratulate you.

Not so much gone at you from the off but We shouldn’t have stood off so much first half. Gave you far too much space and time especially on the wings. You always had an easy out ball.
Second half we much better. Pushed a little higher and in final 20 went after you with greater confidence and commitment.

Not sure we had much choice, the gulf in quality was evident from the start. Very proud of our second half performance.

Seems a common theme not only from our supporters but Brighton too that had we one for it we could have done better but it’s not our managers way or policy and I predict we will still be saying the same n the forthcoming games.

Must have had more service today, as it can’t be Biamous fault he has only scored once in 25 league games

Part of the difference is Biamou doesn’t get into the correct positions where as JCH did

Just got back.enjoyable day but totally outclassed from start to finish. That isn’t a gripe against the boys but Brighton were much much better than we were. McNulty and JCH worked well but had scraps to feed on all day. Both grimmer and Haynes had tough days and had little cover from their forward counterparts which Brighton exposed a lot. Losing two headed goals was disappointing but couldn’t believe that our fans were getting on the back of Burge for them, he had no chance but our defense were second best most of the day.

No shame in the expected defeat, they worked hard all game but the gulf in class was very showing. Good luck to Brighton in the next round (they will need it) but they were great hosts.
