also speaking to sponsors today. both G&R and excel have been told they have to pay 3 x what they’ve paid previously to continue to sponsor on shorts etc… King is playing a dangerous game.

Backs up what I've been told

Hes pissed off Boddy, Hornby, Scope the lot by being a fucking Hitler and wanting to run the club all by himself his way with no time for anyone else.

Money money money

Thank god.
The people running the business side of the club have been totally inept for the last 2 decades.

it’s nice to have someone with actual business acumen running us.

Hornby and Scope have been inept for years. League 2 level team. Not entirely their fault due to the constraints but still.

The quality of the website, statements and social media team was an absolute embarrassment before this season.

wyken on the naze
I don't suppose they will be offering a box as a prize for kick it for a ticket next season then, not that anybody who does it manages to score from halfway

The corporate experience is fine if you know what you're getting.

If you go in expecting 5* luxury treatment then yeah you're going to be disappointed

At 3 times a Cat A match whose expecting that

What I don’t understand is the numerous people on Twitter and I’m sure elsewhere who are berating the Club for their decision, yet aren’t even fans who would purchase boxes anyways.

It baffles me, Dave who is 19, sits in Block 14 is complaining about boxes costing more. There’s no relevance to you pal, stay in your lane.

A lot on here complaining that you don't get a free bar.

£50,000 for the season last year for Burnley in the Championship because they get a fully stocked fridge and an extra couple of courses of food!

I’m struggling to understand where people find the energy to be angry about corporate box pricing tbh.

Oh no, would be disastrous if they were all to leave because of it. How could we ever replace them…?

We’ve been League 2 off the pitch for years. Glad King is finally sorting it out. People love to bang on about how we can’t compete financially at this level and then cry when we try and get ourselves up to the same level as everyone else.

I think season ticket prices needed to rise, we were paying under market value. I think the same for boxes although I think perhaps OTT and both have been handled/communicated very badly.

The thing I find odd is the incessant defending of King and how he’s the best businessman of all time. Sisu upped category A prices to £33 and most people had a shit fit. When match prices come out (and they’re clearly going to average more than last season) it’s going to be “great business! Maximising revenue!”

The love in is all just a bit odd given most things so far have been no different.

I mean he does own the club by himself so seems kind of fair to me.....

I'm not sure it's a love in and proof will be in the pudding with how the money is used. Most people are just happy he's looking at the blindingly obvious issues.

So long as they make as much money off the corporate boxes as possible, I couldn’t give a shit how much they charge.

“Even the Surprise Shirts lot aren’t renewing” - it’s not exactly Don Draper losing the Jaguar deal, is it?

For the record it’s a disgrace if match day prices go up. We’ve been paying L1/L2 prices for far too long for a lot of things but they’re certainly not one of them.

In fairness people are pointing out simple points to people hysterically complaining about every detail. It doesn’t seem fair to call it a love in.

It’s called loyal fans who have supported the club during the tough times now getting shafted because king thinks the club is now a bigger fish. If he doesn’t back his side of the deal then the shit will hit the fan

I don’t get why you’re so invested in it to be honest. If they don’t sell I’m sure they’ll reduce the prices next season.
They will sell out. Same people saying they wouldn't sell out against Boro because of the price increase and oh look they sold out pretty goddamn quick.

I’ve made a fairly sweeping statement, I meant that all round from the fanbase across all platforms, not on this thread in particular.

Of course they will all sell out. But they will sell to actual ‘corporate’ types and not just big time Charlie’s looking to act the big men getting wankered and snorting god knows what every game

Lanyard Frank quitting is akin to when Bob Brolly said he’s no longer renewing his season ticket when Sisu took over. The shock he was told to pay for it was PTSD for life

He needs to invest to meet his side of the bargain but people being shocked Championship football is more expensive than L1 or L2 are frankly being naive calling for loyalty. What happens if their business doesn't do so well one year will they still prioritise the club as they are loyal? Say they are loosing £5m per year are they still getting that box?

The club is a bigger fish though - we can’t ignore this. I’ve argued against higher ticket prices for regular seats regardless, because I think the atmosphere generated there is an important part of our resurgence, and it deserves protecting. And also out of a general sense of fairness during a cost of living crisis etc etc. But corporate boxes don’t contribute to the atmosphere, and their customers can afford to pay more, so as far as I’m concerned, we should charge them as much as possible.

Good! About the time the club was run properly. Can't believe those 3 are still employed.

So I suppose everyone not renewing their box will renounce anything bad they said about SISU and pine for them back? Since they got their box for much cheaper
