On the way back from work I was listening to Talksport and they were banging on about club legends. I am interested to know who you guys would consider to be club legends. There is nothing much happening by way of things going on at the club so I thought this may provoke some healthy debate and abuse. Here are my five.

Jimmy Hill
John Sillett
George Curtis
Tommy Hutchison
Dion Dublin

Most people i see mentioned are 'before my time' but i'd think Jimmy Hill and Sillett would definitely qualify on achievements. Playerwise Ogrizovic has to be in there and I suppose Dublin maybe (is he just leading PL goalscorer or is he leading top flight goal scorer too?). I'd have thought some of the older players might have a more credible claim than Dion, it's just he was the player I idolised growing up.

If only 5 allowed I would say definitely Hill, Sillett, Curtis, Hutchison.

Dublin would be a good shout for the final place although I was as personally fond of Wallace, Hunt, Regis, Speedie, Gallacher & Ndlovu.

Regis for me-someone I was really in awe of even though I met him numerous times. If you get the chance listen to the Man Utd fans singing about him during the build up to Houchen’s Fa Cup 4th round goal at Old Trafford. They don’t sing that about garbage players.....

Dublin would have been if he hadn't left for the Villa. Gary McAllister more of a legend for me

Find it hard to disagree with that choice, however if we are talking just players then I would go for:

George Curtis, Tommy Hutchison, Dion Dublin, Steve Ogrizovic and Clarrie Bourton

Managers only: Hill, Sillett, Robins, Milne and Cantwell

Yes on the managers. And for the historians out there - Harry Storer.

Players more difficult for me in terms of how we define legend - appearances/club records/impact?

Kenny Jackett. If only we’d got that taxi for Robins.

Surprised no mention of Trevor Peake as I see him as probably the best defender I have seen play for the club. It’s easy to think of the the goalscorers and midfield aces but Peake was superb for many seasons. I am sure if he had played for a more fashionable club he would have got international honours. I would put him down as one the best players to grace a City shirt.
