Bob Dylan has been awarded the Nobel prize for literature. Great songwriter,poet,musician,so a worthy winner. But why has it taken so long ?

One of my all-time favourite artists! Got just about every album he made. Such an amazing talent for song writing! I don't think people realise just how many songs he's written that other people record. Same with Prince. He had a similar talent.

Saw Dylan a few years ago. Worst gig I've been to......ever.
Played all his biggest hits, apparently, as I couldn't understand a single word he sang and they had all been musically rearranged.

I think Dylan is like Marmite,you either like it or hate it !

He was an amazing song-writer and a brilliant performer up until the point he abandoned the acoustic guitar.
There was a TV documentary a few years ago that had footage of him performing at the Royal Albert Hall in the 60's. Amazing.
Personally, I don't like anything he did after the mid to late sixties.
Ralph McTell was another performer that was fantastic live. Saw him at Birmingham Town Hall and he had the whole audience spellbound.

Love his music, just thought the live performance was appalling and robbing paying customers.

I don't mind his music - even like some of it - but I don't buy this 'genius poet' tag.
