Have done shifts myself many years ago and it nearly killed me. The only thing that kept me sane was the ability to go out and sink a couple of pints when the occasional opportunity arose. Initially the wife didnt get it, thought I was being a miserable git, but explained that just a couple of pints, ON MY FUCKING OWN, kept me sane.

Luckily she saw my point and never made an issue of it.

Daz, maybe she needs a bit more insight as to what you have put yourself through.

Glad I am not the only one who gets the cold shoulder. I don't really go to the pub but on occasions I want to go out I get this treatment too!
My missus feverishly begs me to go out, so I stay in for the most part.
