It seems too low imo. If you were convicted in the early 00s you're looking at:

Direct loss of earnings from losing your job as a postmaster
Losses associated with the punishment
Losses associated with criminal record for future employment
Debts due to improsment
Costs associated with having to move house etc

Vennell needs jailing for being in charge at the time, not sure £600,000 is compensation enough for jail time!!
It's really annoying. If profits go up under the watch of a CEO, they justify their ridiculous bonuses by pointing to the bottom line. When innocent people are wrongly convicted of crimes under their watch, they issue an apology and move on. Disgusting
