You're just a customer like Fisher says

He's right. We are just customers. They made that clear when we moved to Northampton against the wishes of the vast majority of fans. CCFC is just a trading name, and we are just customers.

If we have no decision making capability we aren't part of a club, my two year old has more influence over her family than a fan of 60 years does over the CCFC family. The protests have made that quite clear.

We are customers and we are sold an entertainment based product.

It's not nice and fluffy, but it's the truth.

Yeah they've had Robert Maxwell as an owner so they've been lied to and the council never wanted to sell to the football club

They just have realistic expectations
I'm glad they have reached your expectations of Division 4 football, could soon be homeless and training ground to be sold among many things. And all in the name of legal action that nobody in their right mind thinks that they will win.

When I started watching football clubs shared the gate receipts for league games as well as for cup games. In the First Division of the day this meant that clubs such as Burnley ( average home gate 12k could compete on more equal terms with Man Utd average home gate 50k). The philosophy was that all clubs needed each other in order to have the competition. I think it was late 70s early 80s that clubs like United got their wish granted to keep all of their home receipts. When City first got into the First Division in 1967, it was perfectly within the bounds of possibility that we could challenge for and maybe even win the title as it was for all clubs. Despite Leicester last season that has gone for ever. Sky's involvement has certainly accelerated the process and in my view continues to have a negative impact on the game.

Yep Sky can be myopic in their coverage sometime

But remember that the next story could be 40,000 long faces as the long suffering CCFC supporters again suffer heartbreak. Plucky Oxford etc... I won't say against the odds because as a club you are better equipped both on and off the pitch.

Regarding Sky they were certainly the start but what was pivotal in many clubs malaise was the collapse of ITV Digital. that was £300,000,000+ over 3 years many clubs like CCFC had obviously factored that into their budgets and when it collapsed there was no way that they could plug that hole.

Grendel - are you going??
He can't be going. He only does home games as that is what the most devoted supporters do. I have even offered a few times to drive to Coventry and take him to an away game to show him how devoted the away support is.

Why would you need to drive me? I went to an away game in February.

Despite all the hysterical nonsense- everyone who wanted one got a ticket, everyones tickets were posted on time, lots of information has been posted by the club on Wembley arrangements. A big thank you to Tim Fisher I think is in order for organising this so well.

I heard that instead of Trains he is going to be giving piggybacks down to Wembley and donating the money to charity too!

Best way to start the reversal of the whole mess is to cancel your subscription.

Are they calling you 'plucky little Oxford' yet. You know that they're going to do that, despite the mere 27 points that you're above us in the table!! :)

@Liquid Gold does anyone still subscribe? In the wonderful world of streaming services and live social media broadcasting its possible to watch many games buckshee.
And that will be another problem..... things like FB will be the next platform in the bidding war....then who needs those pesky people in the grounds?

That's my point, both sides use the customer argument. I don't see myself as a customer as I don't think football is the same as the cinema or the theatre or even rugby union. That said, it doesn't mean clubs can take advantage of goodwill from fans.

We believe you are a gnats whisker away from 44k and we are likely to scrape past 30k plus any pay on the days...... and the Jimmy Hill flag is going in the gap between us on the top tier so we hear? Thats a really bigggggg dot !

Thanks for the ongoing info but where are you getting it from?

Thats not "live ongoing" dotology, too late for that now,..... its based on the last "official" dot count on the interactive seat plan with assumed ongoing sales (in person) then factor in some guess work for pay on the days. General consensus is that it will be approx 74k plus corporate.
Sean Harvey will use it as evidence that the whole B Teams thing was a rip roaring success and the England team in 10 years will benefit from Charlie Adam & Peter Crouch plus some unknown foreigners of varying ages having a kick around in front of 1 man and the proverbial. He will further announce that Luton will be banned from next seasons competition to save them money and that a re-vamp of the rules will have roving goalies and jumpers for goalposts.

In other news, Mrs WM has just left to go on a hen do. I'm playing golf later this afternoon, have a training ride tomorrow and then the final on Sunday.

It was a bit awkward when she asked me if I was going to miss her when she left this morning....

Like it... How can I miss you when you won't bloody well leave? :)

Alternate country song title: I'm still missing you (but my aim is getting better).

On a similar note Mrs EY has been down South at a conference since Tuesday....she is then going to see the relations in Devon from today till Sunday..... and will be home in time to pick me up from the station.
She will be surprised when she gets home as I have decorated the front bedroom ! :angelic:

Get the brownie points in before she gets the phone-call Sunday evening thats the idea.......... I maybe "tired & emotional".....
