i'm struggling to understand how at least 95% of what has been said so far will determine if the loan is "lawful". ?

Is it looking like the Council will be going all day tomorrow as well? Or might we have an early finish?

Going by the look of the skeleton arguments in the trial kit booklet, he will probably finish quicker than Sisu's guy did although he does seem to be getting into a bit of a groove now so could be going for a while.

Note to self: Bring between-meal snacks tomorrow.

Bear in mind that the CCC QC will be trying to give a positive spin to his side..

i am pretty sure we know that, we have just had the last day and a half of the other side do the same !

you've been very quiet too..... strange

He was the same during the higgs case. When sisu's counter was sent off in the first five minutes it was the most pointless thread ever and he was no longer interested, then as soon as members of the higgs family started getting a grilling he all of a sudden couldn't stop posting on the thread. Which I found strange at the time as grendull doesn't have a reputation for changing his mind and doing the exact opposite of what he said he was going to do.

Yorkshire Bank’s planned £15.5m loan refinancing to ACL would have meant £1.3m annual repayments.
The Australian bank which owned Yorkshire Bank did not want to write down the loan, Council QC tells court.

So Sisu tried to tried to distress ACL by withholding he rent, ACL countered by getting a cheaper loan from CCC therefore levelling the field back to where it was at the beginning.

Now that is what I call a master stroke :p
Must have pissed off Sisu and their investors right off, no wonder they won't now talk to them. They must have thought they were in the driving seat. Their advisor's did a shit job not seeing that coming

Simon Gilbert @TheSimonGilbert · 44s Coun QC justifies length of £14.4m Council/ACL loan by saying council will earn £19.4m in interest alone over the 40 year term of the lease.

Anything interesting in the Council's skeleton argument?

Thickness-wise it's 93 pages v 63 in 'favour' of Sisu.

Interesting stuff? Not at all. Basically 'Sisu's arguments are wrong, not state aid'

That, to me, destroys the SISU case. It's a good business decision on CCCs behalf to invest money with a good return for taxpayers.

Bit of a ding-dong. CCC QC having a pop at Sisu being on their high horse but being hypocritical and throwing a few accusations about. Much rustling & muttering on Sisu side and Sisu QC making some points.

All over different approaches to the bank.

It's a fucking awful deal and on a company valued at less than half the loan,

can you buy them from the court, we need the revenues !

Only thing available is free water & free electricity (well, nobody has stopped me plugging into the floor socket next to Tim Fisher).

They're missing a trick here in the court complex...they'd make a fortune in coffee and tissue sales.

Simon Gilbert @TheSimonGilbert · 17s Council QC says Sisu were dealing with the bank behind the council's back too. Sisu QC says there's no evidence for that.

Sounds like a good investment for CCC, ACL, and city of Coventry...win, win, win.
Oh hold on, who loses out here...SISU - guess they wished they'd played fairly now.

again, as I understand it, it maybe a great investment, it maybe the worst ever, does it matter ?

Surely this case is ONLY about if its lawful ?
