Absolutely quality player but have no clue as too why he got released?🤔
Nefarious reasons apparently...a few rumours flying around.
However, think he was popular and was definitely one of their better players.

Can unconnected otherwise unemployed players sign for a club and play or do they have to wait until the transfer window ?

If they are out of contract you can sign them anytime.

As long as he wasn't doing anything Adam Johnson-esque, yes please.

The rumours from Birmingham (where he's from) is that he was involved in drug dealing. Obviously its all rumours and I've not seen anything confirmed.

Probably not a good enough player to outweigh the likely negative aspects. As long as the crime isn't violent/abusive, and he's a decent lad, who has made a mistake, then deserves a second chance for sure.

He would instantly be the second best player in the squad if we signed him. He's more than good enough.

Fair enough might swerve this signing then or we won't get any higher up the league

Why would someone earning many thousands of pounds a week risk it to deal drugs? Can imagine a scenario where they’d let a mate have some, but dealing? Nah.

Exactly. Which (IF true) then begs the question is he surrounding himself with organised crime/gang types? If so any sensible club would steer well clear.

Again all rumours and I've seen nothing about any criminal proceedings being brought against him, but from what I've seen/heard it's not necessarily for economic gain but a by-product of the circles he socialises in - being enticed by the perception of a life of a gangster, which is bonkers considering the wage we was probably on at Cardiff.
