Anyone keeping tabs on our spending on transfer fees?

We seem to have parted money for a few of the signings.

Make a change though. And we're spending on developement players too and not directly into the 1st Squad.

At the very least we must be shelling out on wages for all these signings. Given that nearly all transfers seem to be undisclosed these days it's very difficult to accurately monitor though.

Where's it been said about £150K?
"We understand from many creditable journalists that Coventry City have now joined the race with Bristol Rovers to sign wantaway Walsall striker Amadou Bakayoko.

It is understood that Coventry City have matched our six figure valuation for Bakayoko (thought to be £150,000) and now Baka will now have to decide whether a move to Bristol Rovers or Coventry is more appealing."

I really hope we’re not in for him, sadly strikers are judged on their goals and his goal scoring record is absolutely woeful.

Last season, in the league, he managed 41 appearances - 5 goals and the season before that, 39 appearances - 4 goals. (This is from Transfermarkt.co.uk)

That’s a poor return, we need a goal scorer, not another hard worker - we’ve already got Biamou.

Does it matter what we have or haven’t spent?

Let’s say Robins goes and get a a highly rated League 1 player for 2M using sales money and the player is dogshit. You’d be fuming then. I don’t care if he spends £100K if they make the team and squad better.

It doesn't matter. It's just interesting. Can't remember a summer where we've openly spent money and I just wondered what the approx total might be.

Well thankfully this player is dogshit but only costs £100k

The odds are that the more expensive player will be better that’s normally why they cost more

I would agree with you in years gone by but not anymore. Lots of players are being sold for serious amounts including the top leagues that have been dogshit.

Morata?
Torres?
Andy Carroll?

Prices on players are barmy. But I get your logic generally.

Forget Wilson, Leon Clarke, Marlon King, McNulty, Armstrong and McGoldrick... Leon McKenzie and Freddy Eastwood are the best strikers we’ve had in a long time.

And Ill see your Hughes and Bellend with a Huckerby, Dublin, Whelan and Keane.

What a silly game this is.

There is a massive fucking difference between players like Clarke and McNulty that have run down their contract to move clubs in May/June and ones that are being given away at the end of the window FFS. Why is this such a hard concept for some to grasp?

Wages probably outweigh fees. Promotion means most the squad will have had a pay rise.

How can you include Wilson in that list and also mcgoldrick and Armstrong both loans.

Look at like this Keane cost lots good player Martinez and Zuniga cost less and hopeless players although I would love them to have succeeded

The point is our best strikers for last 10+ years have all been free transfers/loans... transfer fees do not necessarily mean anything per se.
