You have to be shit to make our bench. We have no space for a goalscorer.
Perhaps stand out in training against the ones who have already got the shirt.
They obviously don't think he is ready then. It is a big step up.
Too young, too inexperienced. If he could come into a team for half a game here and there doing okay with a number of old heads to nurse him along okay but this lot we have no way
It's an unfair burden to put on a young player, leave him til next season
I would try him from the bench for the last 15mins in a couple games before end of the season.

I know but I think once slade believes the league season is over in terms of whether we stay up or not he should blood some of the youngsters from the u23 and u18 squads ready for next season in l2 or put them in shop window for loans to non league

Got no issue with a couple of sub appearances when the season is mathematically over but throwing him into a team that's long devoid of confidence, playing longball, in front of an angry crowd where you can hear every negative shout is more likely to set him back a couple of seasons than save us from relegation. He might have scored 19 but he's playing against kids.

Maybe he will be ready in 5 years time when like ponticelli he is an adult at 18 and hopefully having scored 19 goals for the under 18's and broke into the under 23's.

Roy of the Rivers is exactly the sort of player we sign at a this stage in the season. How old is he now? Made his debut in 1954 didn't he?

Jodi jones is a young player too but some on here are expecting too much of him as well
Disagree with this. I think there are lots of reasons he's not being tried out in the first team (training performance etc) but this shouldn't be one of them.
Rooney was 16 and smashing it. Also could be argued there's no burden at all given we are already relegated.
Good enough old enough. It's the former that's up for debate.
Imagine if they'd said that about Michael Owen or Wayne Rooney. Owen was 18 when he scored against Argentina in the WC. Rooney made his first-team debut at 17.
By the time Ponticelli gets a chance, he'll be off just like Sambou was.
He does a lot more for the team than just score. His work rate is excellent and often creates an opportunity for his teammates through his determination to press the goalkeeper/defence (in the video below, a few goals are from his/the attacks high press and not allowing the opposition to play out easily)
The Rooney and Owen comparisons are unfair and demonstrate just why it's too early! He's a young kid and he's already being compared to two great strikers.
The thing with Jordan Ponticelli is that he has only been in the club system for a few months (i'm sure he was at the academy for a short while years back). Most of the youngsters have come through academies either here or at other clubs so they probably feel that their games are more rounded.
Personally I'd give him 15/20 minutes and see how he shapes up.

He'll probably be sold to a 'big' club at the end of the season. Strikers like him don't wait around for long.
