Foreign buyer?
Company or Individual, Conglomerate, Hedge fund?
Plus that sounds like CCC take a fairly hefty hit unless something else can sweeten it for them.

Well I was busy last night
Great night up In Liverpool.
I've read through the thread again and again.
I'm still of the opinion it's something through Fisher and the Butts.
However as I've read back the third time something clicked through my mind where I'd mentioned an aspect of Andersons role through all of those meetings.
Those aspects must have been broached.
Are there two competing outcomes here?
He did seem an odd pick for CEO, I wouldn't have had him down as one for sorting mundane ticketing or retailing operations others lower down could take care of that.
I thought and think there was more to his selection and role here?
Time will tell.
I like your conspiracy;)

I have no idea whether any of this is true. But due to mismanagement before SISU and even worse mismanagement under SISU the club is broken and in disrepair.

It needs a massive investment just to stabilise it and give it a chance of going forward again.

That might well mean some commercial rebranding. That could be a can of worms, but probably the only way forward. Jimmy Hill totally rebranded the club and led us into our most successful period. So it can be justified.

Sorry, no rebranding for me. We've been Coventry city since changing from singers, that's the club for me.

The readiness to accept rebounding from some (and remember the outcry over mcginnitys badge change) shows how far we've been battered into submission.

But we should still have pride in who we are, not let the badlands grind us down.
It's true. I was vehemently against the badge change at the time.

Just shows how far we have fallen now and how pitiful we have become as a club.

I would now accept a rebranding.

It's either investment or slow death. With investment could come rebranding.

Not a proud stance to have, but it is what it is.

And it was attempted before to accommodate a Car company of all things. :-o

There seems to be a lot of complaining about rebranding when we don't even know if there is any truth in the rumour. We don't know who would be interested. But knowing our supporters some will complain whatever happens. Wrong shade of blue although we change the shade frequently. Don't like the picture of a couple of bulls.

FFS our club is on it's knees. Can we please see what is going on before moaning about it like a bunch of old women?

I am not talking about the Coventry City bit. But we haven't always been the Sky Blues, sky blue was not the original club colours and traditionally were the Bantams. So there is scope for some rebranding as there has been in the past.

The pitiful state the club is in is the worst form of rebranding.

That doesn't make sense. I grant you we are in a mess but how does that equate to being rebranded?

I would happily accept rebounding, but even a slight subtle change of shirt and colour, and as long as our crest remains over the heart of the players shirts I'd be happy with that

Changing the colour of the kit wouldn't bother me, there was people moaning about the white kit this year but eventually the moaning dies down and people just get on with it.

However I'd hate for our badge for change, I absolutely love our badge and think it's one of the best in the football league IMO

We don't wear sky blue this season. That is why I don't understand the moaning about losing the sky blue colour.

Yeah, but you might have to change your username ;-)

Sky Blue is synonymous with the club now. Yes, apart from a few seasons as Singers FC when we wore Sky Blue, it wasn't adopted until the 60s - but when it was it became a key part of our identity. Play Up Sky Blues (The 'Sky Blue' Song), Sky Blue Army, SkyBluesTalk, Sky Blue Sam, Sky Blues In The Community - the colour we play in is used all the time in reference to the club - perhaps more so than many other clubs. To change that would make little sense imo and would just alienate people.

A complete rebrand (driven by sponsorship) and we'd just be held up by the football community as an example of everything that is wrong with the modern game - perhaps unfairly, but it would happen. I've no issue with being hated, but I'd rather be hated for the right reasons. What happens, happens, and this is just all idle speculation anyway, just hope it doesn't happen.

Whilst I'm not a fan of the home shirt, it does have too much white to say we don't wear sky blue this season is disingenuous. Plenty (if not enough) sky blue in the home kit.

Not sure if it will feel right moving away from sky blue, it's been part of what we are for decades and to change that might not be right. Having said that, these decades have been fraught will failure so whitewashing that might move us onwards with new ownership.

I am not ready to sell out this far just yet but let's face it nowt positive happens for us anyway!

So is our top sky blue? Are we still the Sky Blues because that is the colour of our socks and shorts?

I don't like our present home top. It looks like free advertising for Tesco. It isn't Sky Blue. Yet I am being told that we shouldn't accept a takeover that solves our clubs main problems in case our tops move away from Sky Blue :muted:

Interesting thoughts Wingy.

To add to that, I met CA a couple of days after he left CCFC in September. He was a genuine guy and happy to talk and whilst he didn't go into any details, I got the feeling that he thought our best option of moving forward was at BPA but others disagreed with this view...

i would be sad to move from sky blue

i think it can be kept and incorporated with red
Red Bull colours are dark blue for normal cans and sugar free Sky Blue. We could become the sugar free advertising. The red is the logo. Two red bulls. I could live with that.

I'm sorry northern but didn't I have a discusssion with you recently where you were in favour (or at least open to) liquidating the club. What is that if not a total rebranding without any of the history.

BPA could be a good way forward. But it needs to be big enough for us.

After much thought I think 'm a bit Bipolar on these things.......... I want either a complete sell out of our soul and morals including rebranding to get us to the Prem league or I'm equally happy with a team full of Cov kids playing with pride in the lower leagues and we are still the Sky Blues.

I hate this huge middle ground where you live off scraps and journey men who have no loyalty to the club or affinity to the City. At least in the Prem league you know they are money grabbing, non loyal self centred half wits representing your City and you can put up with it because you are watching some amazing football and it brings a shed load of investment into the City.

All other RB clubs wear the same kits.
White home shirts and blue away shirts. In the unlikely even RB are taking us over maybe we could have the same kits but the other way round so we keep blue as home. I could certainly cope with a bit darker shade of blue, not like we haven't had that before.

I want pride back in our club. I want rid of SISU. I want us to have our own ground again. I want us to have a secure future. I don't want a complete rebranding though. But if someone is going to put countless millions into our club there will have to be something in it for them. So we must expect a bit of give and take.
