Legend.

I saw him, as usual, on the front row, jumping up and down like an eejit still, after 70 mins, a goal and a man down. Never stops, loves his club.

I saw him outside after and unprompted he said 'well played sir' (I can't take all the credit for today's win guys ), I shook his hand and said thank you.

Absolute gentleman, can we swap him for the mad hatters?

Over the years I’ve always found Middlesbrough fans to be really decent. There’s a Twitter hate between some of their fans and some of ours but tbh in person they’ve always seemed fair minded and realistic.

Is there a hate? Maybe I follow different fans but us Boro and Luton all seem to get on pretty well.

A mutual hatred of Blunderland will do that. The in-ground Boro fans are whiney as fuck though.

I've never been on twitter but posts on here from there would suggest it's simply a cauldron of hate .

Quite a few of their fans after the play off game at the riverside, came up to me and my mate saying well done and good luck at wembley, they hope we win etc. seemed really nice bunch.

With social media being a cesspit, I agree totally. The whole us vs Boro / Luton is actually quite fun and healthy. Everyone needs some hate in their football life but for me it's not those two teams.

I'm fairly neutral on the subject of the Mad Hatters, why is there so much hate towards them?

Easy target - we've got enough coke head/idiots who deserve way more flack, but as they don't 'stand out' as much, they cop for it less.

It’s because the haters are little kids hiding behind their keyboards with very little else in their lives.

Because they’re embarrassing to look at. The amount of people who ask me who the fuck are they ?
Are they out on day release from the pickling farm .
I put them in the same bracket as that looney from Wealdstone .

I think it's because they crave their minor celebrity status and don't even stick to wearing them at games, but always on the front row looking for the camera, but wear them at events, kit launches etc. Mostly harmless but equally it's a bit pathetic.

That's a bit harsh, I don't know any of them but they do support the club home and away for many many years, through thick and thin, they must have spent thousand and thousands supporting the club over the years, as do many Sky Blue fans have done over the years, it's just that they stand out.

They're always there can't knock them for that but they don't help themselves

I saw one of them at Stoke away the other season have a go at a kid and want him shifted cause he was stood in his allocated seat next to his father in the mad hatters usual position of smack bang behind the goal

At Swansea a couple of seasons ago - 3-1 loss - as I was coming out the ground I overheard a copper say to his colleague, “look, there’s the Mad Hatters”.

yep - if they're directly behind the goal the cameras can't see them very well, and that's what matters to them.
