If you found yourself in Coventry on Saturday you could be forgiven for thinking that the city was expecting the delivery of a nuclear warhead, a fused delegation from ISIS, the Taliban, and the PKK, and a 10-thousand strong EDL march, all at the same time, so bonkersly gigantic was the police presence. Of course what was actually happening was 1800 football fans were undertaking the 90-minute journey to watch their team play a game. Surely they were joking when the helicopter went up?
