Stewart Robson and Reda Johnson. Both only made a handful of appearances due to being injury prone. What players when they did play though. And that Reda Johnson song.

Also had a soft spot for Ally Pickering. Not sure why.

Who is your personal city cult hero? Someone who didn't necessarily pull up any trees, but you enjoyed watching and they stuck in your mind since.

For me its probably Lameiras. Really enjoyed watching him.

He and Adam Barton used to piss me off something chronic. Both got loads of talent just never fulfilled it. Ironically Lameiras best game was for Plymouth against us where he tore us to pieces and really showed the talent he had.

Did he even play for his?

Him and Dougie McGuire were potential superstars from my youth.

Sure you're not getting confused with Leigh Jenkinson?

That whole midfield was fairly cult like.
Ray Woods-Julian Darby-David Rennie-Leigh Jenkinson. And we survived!

Aron Gunnarsson for me too. He wasn't bad but the idea of us securing a top European wonderkid at the time was the stuff of FM dreams. The hype over his long throw and his fringe/mullet hair combo Loved him

Had a penchant for swerving a vets bill.
But that’s another story.

Lloyd McGrath. If I remember correctly he played through a broken leg on a tackle with Bryan Robson? Maybe wrong but he was some player who went unsung. And don’t care what anyone says he scored the winning goal 87 final. Legend.

Loved Eoin Jess as a kid for some reason, even though I’m almost certain he was rubbish.

Roland Nilsson probably too good to be a cult hero.

I was totally ready to be in love with the idea of Kevin Thornton.

Jess was incredibly skilful but just couldn't put it into use in a game situation

Lee Hurst. (No not that one, the other one)

Looked like he had the makings of a top player till getting a bad knee injury on an Army assault course in pre-season, bloody stupid idea from Bobby Gould!
