Peter Billing was very much an "up and down" kind of player. Loved his teeth.

And Isaias obviously.

His no nonsense approach epitomised by his shirt sleeves pulled up to his elbows.

Hutch for me. Had tremendous skill and got the crowd exited every time he touched the ball, you just knew something would happen. The goal at Highbury when he beat about 6 players will never be forgotten, it was so good it even featured on BBC news that night. He didn't score many goals, but some were vital like the ones in the 2 all draw with Bristol City. He did however create many goals and was expert at winning free kicks. Probably our best player ever .

No but let's be honest he did pull up trees as one of the most consistent defenders since we've been back in the Championship

Clive Platt, not because of anything specific he did on the pitch but because for reasons I can't remember he became a running joke between me and my London flatmates, to the point that they bought me a Clive Platt print during a visit to the Ricoh that I still have today.

I've cheered few goals louder than the one he scored against West Ham, which I was attending with one of the aforementioned flatmates, who was a West Ham fan.

Micky Gynn for me. Only played in around 50% of our league matches during his 10 year spell and wasn't often considered a first choice player when everyone was fit but was such an exciting midfielder with the ball at his feet,

Met him once. Got told off by my dad for kissing him on the head.

Always a forwards man me so….
Ian Wallace progressed to Mark Hateley to Dave Bennet to Dave Speedie to Kevin Gallacher, Mick Quinn, Dion Dublin, Darren Huckerby, Noel Whelan, Dele Adebola, James Maddison, Matty Godden, Victor Gyokeres etc etc
Throw in Jack Rudoni and yes I know some were midfielders but all had attacking intent

Adebola for me as well!!

He had been so poor for us and was getting a lot of grief and then left on loan to Bradford.

His first game back, which I think was a night game, he came on as sub to ironic cheers and then seemed to instantly pick up the ball just inside the opposition half made a storming run that everyone was going mental to and then had a belter and of a game.

And of course THAT goal away to Blackburn!!

I was at that game too. What a lot don't realise is when he was on the bench the ooh adebola chant was done as a bit of a joke. when he came on it was done again and people were laughing about it. then he beat a player and charged into another winning the ball. more and more people joined in but this time without the laughter and he just grew and grew. he never looked back and turned into a hell of a player for us. he said in the interview aferwards he could hear the crowd getting behind him and it gave him confidence lol

I was at the Newport friendly the day he was sold to Bradford, we already got the impression that summer recruitment was going dreadfully and that news broke before the game and tipped a few over the edge, Mowbray and the German CEO we had at the time to replace Waggott (His name escapes me) had to come and quell an angry crowd to try and justify it - It was at that point I realised Mowbray would not be here much longer

Yeah I remember that game, everyone was shocked. There was a game before he left on loan where he somehow managed to miss from a couple of yards out.
