Well, yes he did.

OK, I'll have to say Carl Baker. Loved that fantastic goal from his own half against Rotherham in something like the 105th minute.

I remember him getting a yellow at Highfield Rd, and a huge number of the west terrace started chanting "off off off"

Peter Billing was very much an "up and down" kind of player. Loved his teeth.

And Isaias obviously.

I loved him. I think he wasnt that bad but I remember him playing on the wing one game. He was not a winger!

I remember a story of preseason game abroad where his near toothless face appeared on the big score board…much to everyone’s, including his, amusement.

Adebola for me as well!!

He had been so poor for us and was getting a lot of grief and then left on loan to Bradford.

His first game back, which I think was a night game, he came on as sub to ironic cheers and then seemed to instantly pick up the ball just inside the opposition half made a storming run that everyone was going mental to and then had a belter and of a game.

And of course THAT goal away to Blackburn!!

I always liked Steve Morgan. I never understood what happened to him. I thought he was decent. I think others were less enamoured with his abilities.
I think our defence was him, Babb, Atherton(could also make this list) and possibly Borrows?

Jeez, not a face designed to be projected!

One game sticks out (may have been against Liverpool) when I sat in the West Stand and watched in awe as he intercepted wave after wave of attacks, and then calmly brought the ball out of defence.

But also, there were plenty of games where he completely missed his kick.... or knee it into the back of Andy Pearce.

Please don’t mention Andy Pearce. How we got £500k+ for him is I’ll never know. Although watching Dublin power past him and score for Cambridge was impressive.

Yeah, that’s the Billing I remember too. Cultured clogger!

First reply nailed it for me, Stern John.

Though if we are going really obscure, then I'll say Guillaume Beuzelin because of one amazing pass he did with the outside of his foot to split a defence.

I would have always said Bright - I loved watching him in his first spell, skill and flair wise he could do things with a football I have seen no one else do in a City shirt

But then he come back and decided to piss his ability and football career up the wall, absolute idiot

Can definitely see how it happened. I played against him in a charity match a couple of years back - fucking hell he was strong for a late-40s bloke.

I know someone who was at blues with him.
They sometimes had to give him separate routines to do away from the main training drills due to his inability to do the basics.

Incredible how he made a career from it.

Not seen a Gary Breen yet, I liked Magnus Hedman such an improvement on Oggy at that time, he could kick the he ball quickly and without searching for the valve.

Yes, Borrows right back. That defence was very strong, 6th best in a 22 team Premier League.

Leon was great, just a shame he was a pretty dour personality off the pitch and feigned an injury to force a move - until we drew Arsenal in the FA Cup and he was magically fit again

That being said him and Wilson were the reason we managed to claw back that 10 point deduction in such quick time so can't slag him off too much

Said it before but when you were 3-0 down away from home and it was pissing with rain the only bright spot was him coming on for the last 10 minutes and trying to snap the opposition in 2.

Huckerby for me. I was about 10 when he joined and I used to get so excited when he got the ball, I remember listening to the Radio with my grandad who was a united fan when Hucks scored his worldy. Good times.

Had a very respectable career and announced his retirement the other week
