Who is your personal city cult hero? Someone who didn't necessarily pull up any trees, but you enjoyed watching and they stuck in your mind since.

For me its probably Lameiras. Really enjoyed watching him.

Marcus Hall, I'm still bitter at Coleman for leaving him on the bench for his last game, although we did get battered by Watford so maybe it was a favour

Good question to me the obvious answer in recent times (within last 10 years) is probably Matty Godden

David Smith for a couple of years... touch of the Sakamoto's about his wing play albeit on left.
Also Chris Marsden for a few months.

Kevin Gallacher virtually the only reason to carry on watching Coventry under Butcher and particularly Don Howe.

John Gayle - him turning out for a top flight club always gave me the encouragement that I could make it in the game

I think it's fair to say he did 'pull up trees'.

I know someone who was at blues with him.
They sometimes had to give him separate routines to do away from the main training drills due to his inability to do the basics.

Incredible how he made a career from it.

I can vividly remember the Cov Tel headline “Gayle blows in”. Hmmmm, more of a gentle breeze.

Moussa probably scored the greatest range of Coventry goals of any player in our history.

This doesn't even include the goal away at Preston with his weak foot...

Leon Clarke is probably too good for this! He was the best player in the division that year, better than Wilson at the time.

In recent times it is probably Liam Kelly, he was absolutely instrumental in two promotions (in my opinion significantly more effective than Doyle in midfield in L2) and even played a part in getting within a penalty shootout of a third.

Any time there's a thread like this people always list answers that are the total opposite of what's being asked

Did not pull up any trees folks, DID NOT!!

We've currently got someone considered one of our greatest ever players and an FA Cup winner for fucks sake
