I'm with one or two other posters, could the OP alater his question to;
Can you name one player you would put in your team ?

I'm also very concerned that the OP chose Lameries in his first four, for me Lameries would be in the very bottom three alongside our useless goalies and also behind our new signing , my 85 year old grandad

Clarke
Reilly
K Thomas
Beavon
A team needs a core or players with experience, pace, ability and desire.

Ha ha ha, have a day off!!
Beavon I think you can work out why, Reilly too. Kwame Thomas for his hard work, pace, ability to be a ball carrier and eye for goal. Nathan Clarke because of the lack of experience in the defensive area. Most sides need a player like Clarke to head, block everything, simple balls. We've seen that in him more often than not when he's been on his game. Just not Bury and Swindon!!
The 4 are a little more structured than Stevenson, Bigi, Reilly and G Thomas

In contrast to what the op has said, Reid and Jones would be my last two names on the teamsheet.

My four right now would be:

DKE
Stevenson
Beavon
G Thomas

Nothing defensive here.....
Don't spoil anther thread with your hatred for Slade, we know your stance, support the man here now and forget the rest....
And please, please don't question my knowledge about structure and tactics because of what Slade did in his time here.

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Reid in there. Bradford though of course will be well versed in how to handle him, with him being their ex player.

i am not spoiling anything. i said he brought 3 players in that you (and one of them i picked too) would have in starting line up. yet results wise we got worse. was he just so terrible tactically? or are these players as good as you think? just questions nothing else!

I think I a lot will depend on if he goes with 442 formation or a 4141, 4231 system.
If he goes back to 442 Reid will be in, any other system only a 4231 could you kind of get him in. A 4141 you'd opt for Kwame Thomas in that position on the left instead of Reid with Beavon up top.

I'm also interested to see if Robins sees George Thomas as a striker or continues to use him as a wide player.

I also wonder if might consider Haynes as a left midfielder rather than full back too.

Team selection tomorrow should prove interesting.

I'll answer one relevant question to now...
Beavon is not a 10/15 goal a season man himself but he can create them goals for the right players around him like Kwame and George. His work rate a desire, defending from the front approach is rare in players these days.
Reilly is really grafting in the midfield too and starting to push forwards with a few shots that have gone close.
Kwame Thomas is coming good now and it's a shame he's missed the bulk of the season as he could of been good with sordell in a 442 with a Reid firing on all cylinders.
Clarke is in as like I said you need a warrior type defender who'll head everything and the only experienced player in the back 5. Put a fast ball playing player like Willis along side him and your see a good partnership. He's proved he can be equally good as bad but out of the choice of Clarke/Willis/Turnbull a core pair of Willis and Clarke is my choice given the lack of leadership on the pitch.

Some good points there that maybe over the next few weeks we may get the answers to. But I think the choice of formation Robins opts for with these players will decide.
I think he will stay 4141 for a few games or 442.

On a points for basis game we didn't get worse than Mowbray or in the last 8 games under Venus.

Statistical analysis really isn't your strength is it?

According to wiki Slade has an 18% win ratio, Mowbray had 35%

If you're just gonna pick ten games out, Mowbrays last ten we drew 6, lost 4 (ppg: 0.4). Slades we lost 7, drew 2 and won 1 (ppg: 0.5) virtually identical.

Every team is only 3 points from being top of the league after one gave even if they lost 7 nil.

The extrapolation of results of all 3 managers points to relegation as a cast iron certainty

3 managers - all failed - conclusion players not good enough.

The end.

slades 0.5 ppg is lowest of mowbray/venus/slade

he got sacked off quick time for a reason

1 proper manager for 10 games and he didnt do well. severe damage done with 2 shit managers that were kept on too long.

the end

also u shud note i said it will be interesting to see if robins answers the question about the squad being one that should be rock bottom or not. i did not say he will defintley prove it. but anyone who said no manager could do better will have egg on their face wether we stay up or not i think

Both for strength and creativity - just need to be told to move the ball quicker and sit 10 yards higher up the pitch

Stokes
DKE
Both for attacking down the line and allowing the strikers to stay closer too the goal and for the two above to be on the edge of the box

Your right about his assessment of the squad, he's gonna say he's happy and there's good technical players.... the mental weakness has been highlighted a few times this week in the side that's cost us dearly and notably under Slade against Peterborough, Bolton, Wimbledon and even Fleetwood. He's not likely or any manager for that is gonna come into a team and say there all weak and pathetic. You need to lift the group you have.
He's been brought in to bring a fresh life into a dire situation that even he's said is a unique job. No other job like it in the country.
He's said he can see the plan with both TM and RS transfer windows and what they tried to achieve. TM liked technical players and RS proven league one players and ones with experience.
It's all ultimately gone wrong for various reasons for all managers but I feel Mark Robins has come in at the best time of them all.
We all but down so the pressure will start to lift off the players, and we will pick up results and gift some still no doubt but soon the day at Wembley will come and players will lift themselves for that of the ones who's available for selection.
It's important to gain a little momentum to end the season well than go into the summer beaten. Let's hope for a fair result tomorrow or Tuesday to kick start a feel good factor to the Robins era.

How to handle Reid and be effective:

1) Force him out wide.
2) Practice your goal kicks.

Edit: Just seen Eastwoods post, apologies. I guess there must be some truth in it at least!
