Am I missing something or do we not think Kwame Thomas will be in MR's plans? I thought he showed real promise back end of last season

Apologies if I missed him being injured/leaving. Was he in Spain?

Yeah I've just realised he's a WUM. Shouldn't have bitten, especially to such an outlandish comment, how many goals did he score in the youth team last season ? 27......yeah, must be shit

To be fair the best qualified on here is Slower Than Platt and I think he's said he's probably not ready for first team consideration.

Robins intimated at the kit launch night that Ponticelli would have a chance to be in and around the squad but did make a point of saying that he'd only been here a year. Suspect he'll be given a chance at some point, all depends whether he can grasp it. Clearly has potential based on the goals he's scored at under 18 level but first team is a big step up from there. Maybe will need to prove himself in the under 23s first.

...................Burge................
Kelly Evans..Willis.Stokes.Haynes
................Doyle...Kelly.............
...Jones.......................Reid (if still here)
...............Biamou..Beavon..........

Obrien
McDonald
Moorhouse
Stevenson
McNulty (to replace Reid)
Vincenti
Grimmer
Hyam
Ponticelli
K.Thomas

The squad has more depth than we have had in a long time.
I would like to see a loanee in the mould of J.Jones to cover the other wing or shake things up if Jones disappears in games.
I would also like to see a proven scorer at this level signed.
With two such signings we could challenge the play off places

Ponticelli seems to know where the back of the net is and that's important, I suspect Robins will ease him in starting on the subs bench, doubt he will start, as for Kwame Thomas I too thought when he came back from injury the back end of last season he did okay had a presence and scored one or two, biggish lad so unless we sign one I expect he could start, I hope our impatient fans give him a fair chance.

Also we must remember this is almost a complete new team possibly from one to eleven we have 9 new signings perhaps with a couple more to come, add Stokes who missed vertically all last season a few youth who have been added to the squad and then there's the loan market. I expect a stuttering start just hope our supporters are patient.

Breen
Breen. Breen. Breen. Breen

Breen. Breen. Breen. Breen

Breen. Breen.

Think 442, not decided yet. 351 might suit with the lack of pace.

I think that would lack pace if I'm honest.

Football manager head on here.

GK
O'Brien

CB
Willis
MacDonald
Stokes

WB
Grimmer/Vincenti
Haynes

CM
Doyle
Kelly

FW
Mcnulty/Vincenti
Biamou
Beavon

Wouldn't mind seeing a 3-4-3 variation like above. Beavon and McNulty playing off Biamou, making runs in the channels. Could fit Vincenti either up top or at wing back.

Having gone to the friendly yesterday my starting 11 for Notts County would be:

O'Brien
Grimmer
Willis
McDonald
Stokes
Kelly
Doyle
Vincenti
Mcnulty
Jones (do think we need another option for the wide positions of the 3 behind the striker)
Biamou

For the starting XI i would love MR to go with

OBrien
Grimmer
Hyam
McDonald
Pearson assuming he signs
Doyle
Kelly
Vincenti
Biamou
McNulty
Moorehouse assuming he signs

An entirely new XI from last season. Make a statement that all those players with us from last year contributed to our relegation including Thomas, Stevenson, DKE et al. Make it clear that this is a fresh slate and nobody can dine out on reputation....they need to win their places in the side.

The above might be our best side in any case

I'd go for:

O'Brien

Grimmer
Willis
McDonald
Stokes

Kelly
Doyle

Vincenti
Mcnulty
Jones
Beavon

Subs: all will have to play well to get in this team - love it!!
Biamou
Haynes
Hyam
Burge

Probably the first 5 I'd pick on the bench, G Thomas, K Thomas, Ponticelli, Finn, DKE, + any newbies! Our depth is awesome this season, don't want to jinx it but I think we're going up!
