Folks,

Just a positional line up of our squad with average ages. Also provides an easier look at exactly what areas need strengthening...aka Midfield.

GK's
1. Joe Murphy (29yrs)
13. Chris Dunn (23yrs)
23. Danny Ireland (20yrs)
33. Lee Burge (18yrs)

Av Age Gk's - 22.5yrs

Def
2. Richard Keogh (24yrs)
3. Chris Hussey (22yrs)
6. James Mcpake (27yrs)
15. Martin Cranie (24yrs)
20. Ben Turner (23yrs)
24. Richard Wood (26yrs)
25. Jordan Clarke (19yrs)
30. Nathan Cameron (19yrs)
31. Cyrus Christie (18 yrs)

Av Age Def - 22.4yrs

Mid
4. Sammy Clingan (27yrs)
7. David Bell (27yrs)
8. Carl Baker (28yrs)
11. Gary McSheffery (28yrs)
12. Gary Deegan (23yrs)
32. Conor Thomas (17yrs)
34. Gael Bigirimana (17yrs)
35. Josh Ruffles (17yrs)

Av Age Mid - 23yrs

Att
9. Lukas Jutkiewicz (22yrs)
10. Freddy Eastwood (27yrs)
19. Roy O'Donovan (25yrs)
22. Clive Platt (33yrs)
27. Shaun Jeffers (19yrs)
28. Callum Wilson (19yrs)

Av Age Att - 24.2yrs

Overall Av Age of Squad - 23yrs (Exactly!)

Do we have the youngest squad in the league? This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I think we have a good mix in all areas. Concerning me the most, along with pretty much everyone else, would be a goalscorer and the lack of bodies in midfield.

22. Clive Platt (33yrs)
1. Joe Murphy (29yrs)
8. Carl Baker (28yrs)
11. Gary McSheffery (28yrs)
4. Sammy Clingan (27yrs)
7. David Bell (27yrs)
6. James Mcpake (27yrs)
10. Freddy Eastwood (27yrs)
24. Richard Wood (26yrs)
19. Roy O'Donovan (25yrs)
2. Richard Keogh (24yrs)
15. Martin Cranie (24yrs)
20. Ben Turner (23yrs)
12. Gary Deegan (23yrs)
13. Chris Dunn (23yrs)
9. Lukas Jutkiewicz (22yrs)
3. Chris Hussey (22yrs)
25. Jordan Clarke (19yrs)
30. Nathan Cameron (19yrs)
27. Shaun Jeffers (19yrs)
28. Callum Wilson (19yrs)
33. Lee Burge (18yrs)
31. Cyrus Christie (18 yrs)
32. Conor Thomas (17yrs) - 18yrs Oct
34. Gael Bigirimana (17yrs) - 18yrs Oct
35. Josh Ruffles (17yrs) - 18yrs Oct

We must have the youngest squad in the League, I'd certainly be surprised if we didn't. There's nothing wrong with having young players in the squad, but we need more experience surrounding them. I'm not saying bring in loads of 35 year olds, but you need 2 or 3 that are 30 odd and have been there and done it. That's why I thought Lee Carsley was more important that a lot of people realised last season.

Especially with a 40yr old Platt up front.

No you see because the tree will be retired by then. Obviously he will never be league 1 level let alone a world beater. I personally think Platt would struggle to win a place in the squad at Nuneaton Town.

Yes but they will still be world beaters. Have you ever noticed how alot of players we have at a young age go on to be internationals? We have some tremendous players here (including now) but we just have them too early in their careers. Anyone think Robbie Keane would come back?

Only if we put a bag over his head and stuffed him in the boot of our car.

Did someone mention violence, rioting and looting in Tottenham? Lets get down there and loot Spurs. Keano will be as cheap as a 40" plasma from Currys in camden.
