That's a 'proper' pitch. 1980's style mudbath. You can see why the long-ball was so popular back in the day.

Looks like any first division pitch in the 70’s and like a snooker table compared to many in the 60’s

They did this was after they dug it up but never had time to put the turf down

Clubs are cutting back on pitch maintenance in an attempt to cut expenditures this season. Undoubtably Newport have done the same. Combine that with the bad weather we've just seen the back of, it's unsurprising that it's looking this shoddy.

i think cloddy would have been more appropriate than shoddy!
