FORMER Coventry City star Leon McKenzie could still be prosecuted for perverting the course of justice – despite having been given a police caution for the offence.

McKenzie, 33, of Rectory Farm, Northampton, was arrested after false documents were allegedly sent to police between February 2008 and January 2010 in a bid to dodge six speeding fines.

The documents claimed mechanics were working on the car each time it was flashed by speed cameras.

McKenzie, pictured, who made 62 appearances for the Sky Blues between 2006 and 2009, was cautioned by officers, but the matter has since been sent to Northampton Crown Court.

Judge Richard Bray was asked to decide whether the caution should be quashed, allowing for McKenzie to be prosecuted, or whether the case should be thrown out and the caution remain.

The judge said the caution could only be quashed by the High Court, and gave the Crown Prosecution Service a week to decide what to do.

McKenzie now plays for Kettering Town.

Y'know, he gets some stick, but I always liked McKenzie and hoped he could've done more here!

I would have him back in an instant, at least he had a real go down the wing.

LOL! That analogy made me laugh. Walcott and McKenzie in the same sentence. A poor man's Leigh Jenkinson perhaps!
