Here we go, the doom mongers are off. Would have liked to progress but then we've got a thin squad. Onwards and upwards.

Thank you!! I've been saying we've got a thin squad for weeks now, but many argue it's not.

As someone pointed out, we have players to come in, but have no strength in depth.

Rather lost without Armstrong. Rather lost without Vincelot. And I dare say, we'll be a bit lost withiout Ricketts too.

Besides Armstrong do we have a true goalscorer?

We have ones who will always chip in here and there (Fortune, Tudgay, Murphy), but it seems like we only have Armstrong as an out and our goal getter.

That's a worry.

Same as most teams, the worry isn't that we have only one player getting the bulk of goals. The worry is that the player is Armstrong who could be going back in January, I have faith in Mowbray though to replace him if we do lose him.

Less games = less fatigue & injuries.

Another masterstroke from TM to get out of the tinpot.

Not to be able to go there and score is worrying. so we are relying on a player on loan from a struggling prem club, who could get recalled , .Our shots stats have been good of late, but its worrying the amount we are not putting away. And yes, im bothered, where we end up at the end of the season is a case of pot luck in my opinion ,a trip to wembly could have set us up with a big league finish and the right mentality for next season .Out of the other clubs who went down last season ,yoevil are struggling the most ,the blades put 5 past notts county ,southend put 3 past crawley , not very encouraging in my opinion for us not to score in 90 mins

I am gutted, more so that the players in that team should have been good enough to beat Yeovil who are struggling in league two. And if they want to get into our first team, they should have performed far better.

RCC - did what he needed to when called upon. Can't criticise him must. Although had he saved any of the pens I think the ref would have had them re taken as he tends to dive outwards rather than across his goal, oddly. 6

Phillips - not really existent in either half. Seems to have gone backwards in his CCFC career. Have injuries hampered him, or is he being asked to play a less attacking role, which seemed to be one of his better assets? I'm not sure. 5

Martin - did OK again, and kept another clean sheet. Bar a few nervy moments in the second half I think he did OK. 6

Ricketts - again he did OK. A lot of our play went through him although that's partly because the first half especially we had possession but didnt do enough with it offensively. 6

Haynes - few early slips ups. Crossing poor the majority of the time. Never thought Stokes would earn the LB position over Haynes so easily. Should have been a lot better today. 5

OBrien - not sure what his role was today. Early on he was ahead of Tudgay at times and then in the second half he was trying to play the Vincelot role, dropping deep to get the ball from the defence. Didn't work. 5

Connor Thomas - he may be coming back from injury but his performance today sums up why I don't rate him. It's not a witch hunt, he just is generally a poor player. Conceded far too many fouls in the first half, didn't offer much else in the second before being subbed. A generous 4.

Fleck - as with the rest of the midfield, he was poor. Conceded possession easily at times. Had one decent effort at goal, that's about it. 5.

Ruben - never really got going, but was probably our most likely to get an attack on the go, before George came on. He must start getting back into the side in place of Murphy. 6.

Murphy - what is it with him playing away from home? Another poor showing. How many balls he put out of play, and a fair few out of the ground (not clearing his lines either; these were crosses in our attack!!) was amazingly bad! Another bad game. 4

Tudgay - never really got going up top. Isn't a lone striker and was too late to try and play with a partner when Aliyeu came on. Tried to drop deep to get the ball but then couldn't offer to anything with it. 6.

George Thomas - tried to get in behind the defence when he came on. Created something, but lacked end product. 6.

Aliyeu - too late in the game to judge to be fair to him.

It may only be the Paintpot Trophy but it is the easiest route to a day out at Wembley so it is a shame we are out of it. I don't think the 30000 that turned up for that Crewe game would have regarded it as a worthless cup had we made it to the final.

Not encouraging but then it isn't as if Armstrong has got more than half of our goals which was the case when we relied on McGoldrick, Wilson, Clarke et al

I don't think there would have been anywhere near 30,000 that evening had admission not been £5. I've said previously all I need to regarding this competition, I'm personally delighted we are out.

Don't talk rubbish, the game would have sold out at 20 quid. There were people on here and people outside the ground offering 50 quid for a spare

No, the match was drawn. Penalties are a means of deciding which side progresses to the next round.

Funny but when they do deals for league games there is little interest, so he might have a point.

Personally I'd disagree but we'll never find out. Every club tickets for JPT are 5\10 though, not like everyone else charges full price
