It's funny how some of the more 'traditionalist' football people, especially fans, hate all the modern use of data & statistics when the evidence couldn't be clearer as to its importance in giving clubs like these a massive leg up over rivals & much bigger/richer/more established clubs.
He's 19, even if he has the ability I would be hesitant to say he can be the Hamer replacement for the season. No, exactly. Assessing the data & being able to contextualise it - technical scouting as we call it, is a real skill in itself. With regards mental attributes no - that's why you scout in person too & also get references from others in the game as to their character etc.No I agree, and I'm 62, it paints a picture. But you can't just take it cold off the page. It still needs context and some interpretation. It's a useful tool but not the only method of judging tallent. There are other factors that are important like personality, ambition, mental strength, have you got a spreadsheet for those?
