Tell you what, there aren’t many better clubs at the moment to be forging a positive relationship with than Brighton. Top club with a great business strategy.

This lad looks very different to what we’ve got, hasn’t perhaps got the aggression and strength Hamer has but moves the ball very quickly and has an eye for that pass in the final third. Exactly what we’ve missed so far.

He's 19, even if he has the ability I would be hesitant to say he can be the Hamer replacement for the season. Would be nice if we could bring in another midfielder on a permanent deal, hope the Hamer tansfer fee is being made available for the squad and we're not just limited to the loan market right now

It's funny how some of the more 'traditionalist' football people, especially fans, hate all the modern use of data & statistics when the evidence couldn't be clearer as to its importance in giving clubs like these a massive leg up over rivals & much bigger/richer/more established clubs.

No I agree, and I'm 62, it paints a picture. But you can't just take it cold off the page. It still needs context and some interpretation. It's a useful tool but not the only method of judging tallent. There are other factors that are important like personality, ambition, mental strength, have you got a spreadsheet for those?

I suspect there will be a marquee perm midfield signing to come.

He looks a promising talent at only 19. Let's give him time and judge him on his own ability (not others).

Another option in the squad.

Great signing. Hope Robins gives him plenty of minutes. Still think we need a permanent marquee CM, a ST on loan and a perm LCB.

Don't think we need a second RWB as Eccles can fill that role well when needed.

I’d imagine he got in contact with gyokeres before signing to sound us out and obviously it would have been a positive appraisal of the club and management.

No, exactly. Assessing the data & being able to contextualise it - technical scouting as we call it, is a real skill in itself. With regards mental attributes no - that's why you scout in person too & also get references from others in the game as to their character etc.

[Albion] - Yasin Ayari

Linked with 19 year old Swedish international from AIK. Creative midfielder and well thought of. Could be a USG loan type. https://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/fotboll/a/RGm9ea/avslojar-brighton-visar-intresse-for-aik-s-yasin-ayari

Yeah and Gyokores told him to keep off SBT, because some of them are bedwetters.

If we are looking to judge signings as direct replacements for Gus and Vik i think its a mistake. We are not that team anymore and not playing the style we would if those 2 were in the squad.

We have moved on and so have they, give the signings the chance and the coaches time to work with them and let's see where it takes us.

I would like a rWB. How many good games has Eccles actually had at rWB? Want a specialist to push MVE.

Leave eccles to fight for midfield

Cant Da Silva play there if needed with Bidwell on the left?

Not sure. Can he? Would still leave us in lurch if we got a long term injury though.

Wing back is such a big position. We need 4 good ones so we can make regular subs as it's a tiring position.

Supposedly he can, between him, Sakamoto and Eccles I don't think we need to waste resources on another RWB

Ok so that's one? I do not understand how you get my from my post that I'm saying he's not good. I am just saying I want a proven wing back.

No one was raving about Eccles at RWB last year.

Will depend how good sakamoto is as a wingback I guess. I've only seen the mboro cameo so can't say for sure.

Why talk about last year when literally two weeks ago him going off lost us the game from that position. Why waste resource on a position when all being well we have MVE, Eccles, sakamoto, lats, da silva and if needed fuck it ill go there.

And you can tell Yas Ayari, this is your song,

It might be quite simple but, now that it's done.

I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind, what we've put down in words.

How wonderful life is, now you're one of us

That’s a high end loan, allows us time to spend wisely. More depth to the squad also. Things are looking good.
