If we’d beaten Luton we’d have been two points behind them. I think that counts as in and around.

Cardiff were also not far ahead of us when we played them.

Ostigard and Hamer on 4 bookings now. They must not pick up a booking before the cut off which is after 19/20 games.

Ostigard is more crucial atm as we have no adequate back up if hes suspended.

We’d just go four at the back I expect.

I'd think so - and it's only a 1 game suspension I think?

It's been said many times by many pros that fans do lift players.

Anyway, I'm more worried about the officials than our players. I wouldn't be surprised to see a contentious decision go against us in this one. I'd guess that our centre halves will be penalised for fouling Akinfenwa a fair bit.

Couldn't lift Akinfenwa if they tried.

(On a serious note, given the fans pay their wages, they're not likely to say that they're no help whatsoever, are they!)

As much as I think we are a superior side, our run against Wycombe must come to an end soon. A win would be bloody massive for us though.

No, I get that. But they are only humans. Having a few thousands willing you to do well, or willing you to fail will have an effect. Like I said though, I think the effect maybe more apparent on the officials.

We don't have a perfect record there. Admittedly we won all but 1 of our games against them but we lost our first visit there on the league Cup when we almost threw away a 3-0 first leg lead

I'm obviously talking about our recent record. What happened in 1993 has no baring on the two teams now.

I agree. A bit like our constant inability to beat Aston Villa. The amount of games I went to thinking that this will be the time we beat them, only to be disappointed. Eventually we got there, and if we play them often enough, so will Wycombe.
In reality, the history of the fixture means nothing, it is very much what you do on the day. Apart from the first few games, they have become much more competitive. A win would be great but avoidance of defeat wouldn't be the end of the the world (although undoubtedly will cause a few to melt down on here. Imagine how bad it will be if we lose!).

They haven't won in 7, we haven't lost in 6. Their forum opinions are similar to ours, they see it as a must win but aren't expecting it. Half of their comments are about Akinfenwa lasting more than 1/2 a game in a week. But, as has already been said, we like tripping up over ourselves. If this was at Stans where our record is amazing, I'd be jumping all over a home win. Our record away is bluntly terrible so I really can see them getting a rough win at our expense.

3 days rest v their 2 days rest for the game on Sat. They looked shattered last night and Bayo was doing his best Yakubu impression and hardly moving. This should be viewed as a very winnable game but WW are fighting for everything and it isn’t the worse result to come away with a point on the road.

I think the psychology is in our favour. Especially as management and personnel wise they haven't changed massively over the last couple of years so there must be an element of 'Oh shit, we always lose to Cov' but, equally a good side could use that as added motivation. An early goal for us could tip it towards the former.

Not at all. Very much a glass half full person. I see lots of positives in what we have achieved this season. We have a manager who has managed to improve us year on year and who has somehow engineered a 6 game unbeaten run and turned our team from a leaky sieve with regards to goals conceded to one that is fairly water tight.
I think we are a better team than Wycombe. The point being made was that the fact we have beaten them so many in the recent past doesn't guarantee we will beat them this time.

Extra days rest could be significant. They've had some decent form of late though, held Brentford and Watford at home, as well as picking up points away.

Not providing any earth-shattering commentary here, but a loss would be disappointing, a point fine, and a win, excellent.

Will be a tough game. They have improved recently and will be set up to frustrate. If we get our noses in front it will mean they have to be more expansive and that should help us play our football. Fall behind and it will be a dour and sour encounter.

I have faith that we are a better side than them not just by league position but how we play. The only way we lose is if we make some major errors

Without doubt we have the better team overall, but like others you look at all the stats etc that point to us winning and think "this is exactly the type of game we get complacent in and fuck up". We don't seem to be doing this as much under MR which is good.

Crowd being back may be a factor, particularly on the refs who've had it easy from the stands for ages and don't seem to be treating us very well thus far on the whole.

Expecting Fadz to have a decent game as it's his bread and butter so expect a penalty and red card for him now!

if we enter the game looking to impose ourselves but not be complacent and expecting to win we should be leaving with three points.

We should win we have the better team. Dangerous old sausage is that. Never forget when premier league city went to Tranmere who I think were Div 2 at the time and we got pumped. Thats before we even start thinking about certain FA cup games
