Thanks for this - I was planning to go, having witnessed our glorious 4 - 2 defeat there in the league cup several years ago, where Phil Babb scored the goal to take us through on away goals. But it's my wife's birthday on the Wednesday, so now I shan't be going!

I'll be going to this one. I fondly remember the JPT game at the end of the Sixfields era where we won 1-0 with greats such as Mo Coulibaly playing for us.

Looking back at the squad just over 2 years ago now, he's the team that night:

L Burge, J Willis, D Pugh, J McQuoid (J Maddison, 68), C Thomas
, M Coulibaly (K Spence, 80),A Phillips, B Daniels, D Swanson, J Finch, J Clarke
Subs not used: R Haynes, R Allsop, I Lawton

Nice to see squad continuity with just the 8 of 11 starters no longer at the club.

I remember that night too, it was dreadful. I went with a workmate who was a Wycombe fan, he had sat with me for the first leg and fancied their chances in the return. I was in the Wycombe end with him.
We were absolutely dire, with players like John Gayle, Detzi Kruszynski and Willie Boland in the team. They were new to the league but outplayed us and led 4-0 on the night just into extra time. I had given up by then, but Steve Morgan scored in the 2nd half of ET to put us ahead on away goals. I was sure they would score again but they seemed to run out of steam and Babb's late goal actually meant we won on aggregate. Big sigh of relief at avoiding yet another giant-killing.

Awful wasn't it. That game was one of the worst I've ever seen. The 0-0 at MK just after was pretty poor too!

My mate nearly blow himself up on the way back from that game, smoking a cigarette whilst leaning up against a petrol pump.
