Haji is a paradox. Was injured during pre-season but came back firing at the start of the season, goes away with the USA 6 weeks ago and impresses, comes back and his form drops for us. I remember last season, he played at Derby midweek and was awful, then scored a hattrick against Sunderland 3 days later. He's impossible to predict. I think Simms has more than earnt the shirt for this Saturday. His last start was away at Pompey when he set up both goals and was really good. He's scored and assisted off the bench since then.

I say this as a Haji fan, I would genuinely drop him for the next 2 and give Simms a go, he has earnt it in my view. Then bring Haji back for Charlton after some time off and hope he's back to it

I wouldn't start simmo unless Haji can't play at all and then it's a coin toss! He just can't seem to contribute enough with his feet to the general play. Lampard went the other way last time so maybe Simmo will get another chance.

If you a team mate and you are busting a gut in the cause and there is Haji just sauntering around you be soon telling him to get his arse in gear .
I've seen Victor Torp Overgaard tell him more than once

Lampard said he’s happy with what wrights doing and the work he does between the lines, thats all that matters, not sure what we expect from wright he’s a good championship player, frustrating as he is he’s class on his day, and simms has improved but he’s only doing the minimum you’d expect him to do, if Simms had a run of 5 starts guarantee we’d be wanting wright to start

To add my two cents. I think Wright works better with a ten behind him.

His best performances have been with Rudoni in the ten unless I’m mistaken.

Whilst I agree with what you've said, Frank is hardly going to come out publicly and say Wright is a lazy c**t when he's not in the game, is he? Let's be honest, FL might be just as frustrated with his apparent lack of effort in games he's not firing in, but he's not about to come out and state that publicly!

Most only look for goals when almost as important is the off the ball stuff. EMC - before the goal - prospered from the space Haji created.

Yes 100% and I said this a little while ago as well.

BTA is obviously a very different player to Rudoni, and is not going to give Wright the same kind of service.

Wright will start scoring again once Rudi returns.

He didnt score in the 5-goal drubbing but his movement and positional play as the striker were really good. He only played 60 minutes over the two games he should be good to go against WBA and for me he makes the US roster for the World Cup. Did his job both as main striker and as late sub with those 2 strikes. Poch can’t ask for more; even if he remains plan B.

I would think if Frank is unhappy with Haji, he's not the sort of bloke to hold back on telling him so. Haji will understand what's expected from him, but also how to do it. Maybe he's doing exactly what he's been told to do by Frank

Frank's faith in him cost us the play off game against Sunderland and will cost us this season. Finding it extremely difficult to watch the exact same spineless performance from him week after week. Feel the same about Dasilva.

The thing is, assuming we go on to bottle the season, we're going to have a hard time shifting a lot of these players. Were probably banking on him having a strong season regardless, instead there will be zero interest.

My beef with Wright has always been looking disinterested. Thought he looked up for it today, just total lack of quality and missed 2 sitters.

Just more proof that Lampard will play his favourites regardless. Absolutely dog shit today. Not a single forward run or pass..... amd KKH is sat on the bench behind that. What has KKH got to be doing in training to sit on the bench for 90 mins behind that pile.of dog shit today?

Today was one of his better performances, at least for a long time. He absolutely should have scored, or at least hit the target.

It’s time to finally accept that Wright is not good enough to be leading the line for a club challenging for top of this division.

Why does he always go for the near post?

For someone with such great attributes on paper his footballing intelligence is piss poor

We should never have dropped Simms when he was on a great run of form. We should have stuck with him and let Haji make a statement from the bench. It was far too easy for him to walk back in and far too easy to keep his place. We could have sold him and bought Kone for half of the money at the start of the season and we would have a consistent battler and better finisher.

Not sure what up for it looks like but he wasn't today. Every time we had a shot and the keeper parried, he was offside

He got involved and battled, showed a bit of aggression which isn't always a given with him, but was just poor.

Not signing Bamford is looking like a massive mistake
