The problem in a nutshell is we’ve got one excellent right sided attacker. Two excellent left sided attackers and 2 average central attackers. So we’re trying to shoehorn the best players in as we don’t want to leave either Wright or EMC out. But it doesn’t work.

Unless we can get another right wing and centre forward, then it makes sense with 5 high-end players on rotation across the 3 positions, and a 6th CF in Bassette. Still, according to the statistics gurus our problems isn't our above-average attack anyway, it's our average defense.

He was probably out of form during the playoffs because he was preoccupied with the flowers costs overrunning and the hors d’oeuvres for cocktail hour not yet being decided.

The Haji hate on here, Twitter and Facebook is hilarious. Feel sorry for the guy. Imagine uprooting your family, turning up at a club off the back of a World Cup, being top scorer in your first season in English football, scoring a huge goal with a great finish to send us to Wembley Semi, to then score a monumentally high pressure penalty in the Semi in front of millions. Start your second season on fire. Get injured. Come back and ultimately STILL finish top scorer with 12 in 29 and the 3rd highest PPG after Piroe and Sargent in the league.

Yet continuously get pelters from the fanbase about work rate and his entire career here based off of “yeh but he was shit in that one game where I thought he’d turn up”. All in his unfavoured position aswell playing LW. Sakamoto (who I love) in the same position on the opposite side doesn’t even come close to Haji’s output, but is the fanbases child.

It really is embarrassing on all platforms. The guy is the most 2 footed natural finisher we have had for many years.

I maintain it’s largely based on his height and build giving him a lethargic looking gait.

He wasn't Wright's first choice. Both Kitching and Binks were ready to do it until Collins clattered into them and allowed the ring to get stolen

Nah they actually live in the same town! My dad keeps running into them both. He once saw Collins in a CCFC tracksuit and excitedly asked him if he was going to the game that night, before realising it was Actual Brad Collins. This was right after he got dropped as well, so a decent chance he may have inadvertently contributed to his loss of confidence.

FFS, we could be looking at a decent chunk of the season without Wright or Dovin. Will need to make two signings, and likely spend a fair chunk of the budget, just to cover injuries.

That sounds less than positive.

If he's ruptured his achilles he'll probably be out until December / January.

Hopefully it's just an Achilles strain, can hurt for a few weeks but would be available for at least some of preseason.

I thought it was 6 months but it's a horrible injury so could be longer.

It potentially could be for the season then if it's a full blown rupture.

He was walking about at game last night, without aid, so hasn’t ruptured it or anything.
