Don't you think it's relevant to a Sky Blues forum that he appears to have put in a performance that echos those from the play off?

I appreciate ladt night was more of a cameo but its still a concern for me.

Not really.

if he had come on and ripped it up then the view on here would be he played badly for us in the play off matches because he wants away…… Can’t use that argument if his form continues for USA so what’s the new view ??

That lad McGlynn who scored USA’s goal has a wand of a left foot. Statistically one of the best passers in world football which is insane.

Just a shame he’s slower than McFadz and has the defending ability of Stern John.

Because they are saying exactly the same things many of our fans are saying.

His body language was difficult to watch again last night.

Let's face it Lampard and his team haven't got the best out of any of our strikers. I know Haji came back from a bad injury and none of us knows the full impact of that but there does seem to be an issue here. I think the Jury is still out on Frank in this area. We certainly can't keep throwing money at the problem.

Its clear from Haji's body language he wasn't in it at all last night. He clearly wants a transfer from the USA to Canada.

You've missed my point. I was responding to a post that criticised someone for nentioning Hajis performance.

If all were going to do is praise players, for example JDS for his Wales performance then what's the point?

People can disagree with the criticism, that's fair enough, but to suggest it shouldn't have been brought up is daft.

Personally, having thought about it after initially been angry with his play off performance, I still think his injury is a big factor in he's been playing and the Sunderland performance was a bit of an anomaly.

8 goals when played as a striker last season and 4 from the left.

I’d say it’s pretty careless to turn a blind eye to Wright’s extended poor form, and possibly attitude.

I don't think they're suited to the system he wants to play.

I don't think we'll change all 3 so it's going to take 1 or 2 windows in addition to this summer to get the strike force he wants.

Why does this forum instantly question a player's attitude when they play poorly or simply lose form ?

I'm not anit-Lampard in the slightest. I thought Robins should go after the Leeds game, in fact. but that's not the point.

I think the issue is the slow and predictable buildup play. Teams know how to play us now and just park the bus, which gives our strikers little chance. Give us a high line and space and we'll batter them. To be fair we've been poor at breaking that down since Hamer left but it's the coaches who need to work on that. Torp seemed to offer something towards an answer before he was hurt

People have always been annoyed with Haji's laid back attitude to be honest.

US reporters have been saying it for years.

It just stands out more when he's playing poorly and struggles to control a simple pass.

You could have a point, however, we need to consider that Frank is playing a squad he inherited. New faces could mean a different style of play but since he came, he has had to play to the strength of what he has got.

Because it looks like he can't be arsed, that may not be the case but it's the ways it appears.

Jake Bidwell seems to have lost form, don't think too many disagree, but I can't remember hearing anyone question his effort.

There’s a lot to agree with in this post
1) the Leeds away game was a disgrace. The contrast from the previous season when we set up very defensively but gave it a go and managed a very good draw was embarrassing. This season we pitched up hoping to keep the score down and didn’t. It was the weakest, most cowardly, performance I can remember under Robins.

2) the staccato painful build up is an absolute weakness of our game. The number of times we get the ball quite quickly to EMC or Wright only for them to take an age to develop the ball is frustrating. Even at the height of his form EMC was in the habit of taking the ball down from a long pass, tricking his way past a player and then standing still on the flank while waiting to do whatever he does next. By the end of the season full backs had been told not to dive in and stood a much better chance of stopping an attack resulting in a chance on goal.
3) Allied to this we struggle against good and poor teams who park the bus/set up in a low block. This isn’t unique to us (witness England yesterday) but there was no plan b for the entirety of last season. That has to change in the coming one.
4) Torp was such a big miss at the tail end of the season. Wright scared the living daylights out of O’Nein and Mephram in the league game, and while they learnt from that and we didn’t a crucial factor may have been the absent Torp - he made both Wright goals from open play (and possibly played the ball through to him to create the chance for the penalty too

Yeah, always. When he's playing well, you don't notice it.

He is our best player on his day and he gets lauded for that.

It's still tough to take his performances in the play offs. He stood out like a sore thumb.

We just don't have the money for big changes and even if we did we don't want to sacrifice the season to rebuilding again.
