Simms scored more goals from open play too… Haji scored 3-4 penalties and had a high xG of chances missed.

Simms is not in the same league as wright as a footballer

He just isn’t

I’ve never suggested he is and have said many times Wright is our best player.

It’s contextualising things that Simms just isn’t as bad as people make out. Frankly, without he and BTA, we wouldn’t have been in the position we are in now.

He's next level compared to Simms.
But he and Allen have set the bar now.
We need to see that level consistently if we are to have a successful end to the season.

I think with Haji, maybe his head went down when he got injured. He was out for probably twice as long as he expected, original forecast was January IIRC. this was seriously jeopardising his international chances with the world cup coming up next year. Maybe he was a bit dispirited with his form when he returned, realising it was not going to be easy to resume where he left off, and maybe he was trying too hard and tense in his play.
I think now his confidence is back we are about to see the very best of him coming up.

I think it’s fair to say of the players we’ve signed when you consider the transfer fee and anticipated pedigree he has underperformed to expectations

This side of the New Year, he’s scored a fair few goals and important ones to get us up the table. Scored in a lot of our big games last season too.

You're not allowed to suggest that Simms was part of the run we have been on. Was clear from the Simms thread some people will always dislike him

I think its perfectly reasonable to suggest hes not been great nor is he having a good season .

Some struggle with that

Looking at the full game you can see how he worked himself into good positions to receive the ball. But he was helped by midfield dominance behind him. But I doubt if Simms would have got number 1 and 3.

Was worried how we could get EMC and Haji in the same team but some of their link up Saturday was brilliant

It's mental how he can go from looking Sunday league to premier league in 4 days

Honestly, Derby he was worse than awful. Couldn't pass, couldn't hold the ball, couldn't move he was genuinely utter shite

Then Saturday, he was absolutely unplayable, and resembled Viktor in his days here

If we can get the Saturday Haji to turn up for at least 75 % of the hopefully 11 games left, I think we will be in with a tremendous shout. He's premier league quality on his day i don't care what anyone says

On the way out the ground on Saturday I think I heard the best comment on Hadji. “It’s like he has an on and off switch”

His hold up play has brought in the other players allowing them chances to score. He has also done some good defensive work. He was given a role.

He hasn't been great. But he hasn't been as bad as some love to make out.

Most strikers at Championship clubs wouldn't have got them either especially the 1st one. Add to this he also got awarded the pen he scored. That was a Prem quality performance. If they came from a top player for a top side the media would have been raving about it.
