The criticism has been entirely justified. He hasn’t impacted games anywhere near enough and hasn’t used his physicality to any real effect all season. He’s failed to score in about 80% of league games
Well, there's a BS statistic if ever I saw one. He scored 19 goals last season, oh but what if we don't count cup games, oh and then don't count the hattrick then he only scored 10. B*llox, nobody does that! Nobody is fretting about Cole Palmer having only scored 3x this season. Nobody is going back and revaluting Kane's career coz 'he scored a lot of hattricks'. I have no real idea how the scoring chart in the league would look if we did that for last season but my gut tells me he would probably be higher.
Even if we exclude the cup games he was still well in the top 20 goal scorers last season which isn't terrible. If you look at his minutes per game this season he is outscoring Josh Sargent, Morgan Whittaker and a host of other big names with 3 goals in the equivalent of 7 matches worth of minutes (with no braces or hattricks - which is apparently a good thing!!). You don't rate him - whatever - but this stat alone is just nonsense.
