this isnt out of jealously or anything like that, but really starting to dislike wrexham, in a similar, yet different way to MK Dons.

id hate for them to get to the premier league before us.

I hope them and Blues have bad seasons, both as bad as each other. A lot of Blues fans saying they will do an Ipswich and go straight up.

I personally don't mind it and I know I'm likely in the minority

They seem to be owners that have not just invested in the club but have rejuvenated the town/city and have made regular visits to see Wrexham play, unlike some owners who just see it as a toy and not give a shit about the supporters

The influx of American fans is a bit cringe but not doing any harm I don't think, so long as they admit they've only become fans since the owners took over!

A friend of mine said yesterday that Wrexham are a bigger club than both Cov and Pompey.

I told him it was his worst take of all time.

They've got more social media followers and their revenues are looking good but they're not even the 2nd biggest team in Wales.

Enjoyed the documentaries and they should never have been where they were, proper club, proper fans, but now they're at our level they can fek off.

I've disliked them since the Hollywooders first walked in. Turning football.in to some sort of franchise and circus. Also add to the list, Man City, Salford, Blues..... I mean, where does it end? In us all despising football altogether? Or will we all just end up embracing it? Light shows and flame throwers before kick off! Popcorn at half time. Netflix series on every club up and down the country. Some A-Lister Holywood buffoon private jetting in for the "big" games and shaking fans hands and kissing their babies for photos.
It makes me sick!

Wrexham has a ground with a small capacity , yet many tickets to " die hard Johnny come lately fans" from the US.

My best friend has been a Wrexham fan since late 70’s (despite living in Sheffield) when they were pretty good to be fair-beating Porto in the Cup Winners cup for example.

Since then it’s been pretty shit slipping down the leagues into Non league. He once told me that North Ferriby Utd (literally a village team just outside Hull) beat them and that was a low point.

So knowing that like all Wrexham fans he’s suffered more than we have I don’t begrudge them their success at all.

Fucking can’t stand their massive fanny of a manager tho-who has absolutely zero class.

Family in Wrexham and throughout 80s were Man U or Luverpool fans. Suddenly they have fans everywhere in the town.
That said prefer them to do it that way rather than a rich oil barron or Russian mafia or US financial hedge fund investor.
W2W documentary is cringe but is focused on the people and the story of the Wrexham and has boosted a very run down working class market town. (now City)
Still think Stockport deserve more credit having got 2 promotions from NL and now looking at a 4th to Championship via playoffs....all done on a shoestring budget too. This clearly irks Wrexham fans some of whom have delusions that they will promoted to Premiership this time next year.
Not with Phil Hoofball Parkinson they won't!

I don't have a problem with them even though they're Welsh. Good owners and supporters that have been through hard times for ages.

Let them have their moment. They would need a total rebuild to go any further and spending many millions would only get them to be a mid table side. None of their squad would get in our side so nothing to worry about. Let's see how long they stick around when they realise that they would have to risk everything they have just to build a squad that might make the playoffs.

This is just jealousy. If those two American actors had turned up here we would have welcomed them with open arms. If you want any club, not just City, to survive in the Prem you need a rich owner of some sort, be it a sheik or an American actor, to top up the media money. Without that you get relegated. Wrexham is a dump so good luck to them

But. It’s always been like that. The rise in the number of Man City shirts in Cov didn’t chime well with me.

Less of an issue with Wrexham than any other bajilliomaire owner tbh.

No issue with Wrexham tbh, but their squad isn't anywhere close to being good enough to survive in the Championship. They need their home games to like cup finals and hope to get enough points. Can't see them spending spending massive in the summer either, but could be wrong.

Their piss taking with finances has denied Stockport an actual fairytale rise back from the Conference North to the Championship. So no, they can piss off.

Applauding clubs for taking the piss is what’s wrong with the game in this country.

Have they broken any rules? I’ve not been paying much attention but have they spent more than Birmingham this year?

Apart from the FA cup loss, I don’t really have any ill will. Seems a bit of a circus with how it’s covered especially with the Americans coming over but not my club, not my monkeys.

It doesn't help when Sky and the Media don't seem to acknowledge it and call it a fairy tale and make out they are underdogs all the time.

It's like when they were wanking the other night about Scott Parker working miracles.

The one positive of their promotion is the possibility of having Blake Lively at the CBS. Would be class

I think for the people of Wrexham it is a fairy tale. Two (well, one) Hollywood superstar taking over their club and genuinely transforming (my Wrexham friends tell me this is true) the club and the town. It’s crazy and unbelievable for them.
It’s not our club so we can be incredulous about it but it most definitely is a sort of fairytale for them.

Having said this, I noticed that the bloke who fitted my new kitchen recently had a bit of a midlands twang. Sure enough he was from Nuneaton. So I asked him if he supported City and he said he used to go up as a kid all the time and he still keeps an eye out on the scores…but he now really follows Wrexham after watching the documentary.
Fuck off.

The problem with football today is, you don’t need a big fan base or a big stadium to be a big club.
You just need mega rich owners.

Seems they’re attracting American tourists.

Ryan Reynolds has transformed Wrexham. Who will save Britain’s other struggling towns?

Can the Hollywood takeover of a Welsh football club really be a model for regeneration?

Well, I think in a few ways…I think economically things will have improved right?
I dunno if you’d have been around but when we won the cup there was a proper buzz about Cov…so like that I think. Only this time it lasts longer and is being recorded by Hollywood superstars and broadcast all over the world, over and over again. Probably called civic pride or something.
My Wrexham mates say whatever it is it’s real…or should that be Rhyl?
