If it's the bit about bettering themselves and fans being behind the move that was pretty much the case wasn't it? What was their average gate at Adams Park? 3000-4000? I would hazard a guess that the vast majority of those 3-4k were traveling to the Ricoh in the beginning and probably still are now.

If your criteria are a decent stadium and people turning up post move do you also think it was right to move Wimbledon to Milton Keynes?

Maybe if the FL fancy expanding to Ireland we can get a deal at Croke Park or the Aviva. Would be fine as long as the locals turned up, after all its a better stadium than we have now and is the move is needed to secure our long term future. Exactly the same spin Wasps put on their move.

When the notifications come through for bumped threads, my first thought is that I really need to get a life, and post less.

Exactly, the double standards and hypocrisy on this are unreal.

Not Bermuda Village as such. When people were talking about it they meant the land to the side of the A444 before you get to the cinema. (opposite Sutherland Drive estate).

My family home is in Bermuda, Nuneaton not Bedworth, it takes me the same time to drive to the Ricoh from there as it does to reach Coventry City centre from the Ricoh.
Nuneaton is Sky Blue!

I get the village bit, I was talking more about the place where the ground was being discussed which was before the cinema when going down the A444. That is more Bedworth.

The village you have to go right into Nuneaton to get to don't you? (unless it's opened up a cut through now)

I always believed Bermuda to be in Bedworth.

Used to work with a few Beduff lads.

There is Bermuda Park which is the industrial estate, with cinema, F&Bs, bowling etc. That is between Nuneaton & Bedworth but is still classed as Nuneaton. Then there is Bermuda Village which is the other side of the Hospital. The village and the new estate, are collectively called Bermuda now. Not part of Bedworth by any stretch.

If it moved there permanently, I wouldn't go as it would stop being Coventry City FC.

You are correct there isn't a way through so you have to travel quite a distance when it could be a a few seconds.

I struggled over the Sixfields move, because the team playing was wearing our badge, representing our city, the team I have been watching since 1967. I didn't go as I didn't believe it was right and I still don't believe I can support the club if it is taken out of Coventry.
That said I couldn't get involved with a start up or established Coventry team because I have invested a big part my life in Coventry City.
I just hope that common sense breaks out and both parties see the benefit of each other. I hate being a tenant but at least its comforting to walk in to a stadium that is sky blue and has been our home since HR. I wonder how I would feel if the seats were black?

Their move was completely unnecessary. What’s happened since proves that. You think the Aviva is a better ground than the Ricoh? Jesus Christ.

Why was their move completely unnecessary and Wasps not?

I think the Aviva is a better ground than the non-existent ground we currently have for next season. Point still stands. If a move like that happened to a bigger ground on a long term deal with a higher attendance than we currently get is it acceptable or does that reasoning only apply to Wasps?

What makes a move necessary and acceptable? It seems like it is just the bloke from Wasps telling you.

The thing now is, if Wasps refuse to talk and the EFL strangely decide they have bollocks and would throw us out of the league if we have nowhere to play. A move becomes necessary, so I assume will be supported as the Wasps move was?

Wasps move was not necessary - it was done for financial gain.

nothing to do with decent stadia it is reaching the code of the sport.
So just like this post it is irrelevant.

Nuneaton doesn't come up to code so this Thread is irrelevant.

Anyway most of us don't care about other teams only CCFC.

It's a good job he wasn't referring to you then

Maybe if people stopped thinking that if they big up Wasps to try and throw digs in other directions people wouldn't be pointing it out.

This is the point that's being made really. It's like there are 2 big blokes who are both bellends and trying to be best mates with one to try and get him to beat up the other for you.

I work with someone in Bristol from London whose whole family are London Wasps fans. They were gutted at the move and haven't seen them since, occasionally go to see Bristol or Bath play but say it isn't the same as having their own team to support.

I'm sure there would be plenty of people in Cov who would be happy to be in the same situation if it made business sense.

And if this were a rugby forum that post would make a lick of sense.

The whataboutery on this thread is hilarious.
