I think the game is on the verge of players from their own cities/towns going back to their home club to help them out once they have made their fortunes in the game

Decent keeper. The only snag with Kirkland is that he has a poor injury record. We have had so many players with a sicknote past, but Burge would then probably be adequate as his cover. So, on balance, yes if he could pass a stringent medical, especially on his back.

I don't think he'd command that much of a wage. and after last season bench warming im sure he'd be grateful of the offer of first team football.

Id offer him a 1 year with the option of a second. If it works out and he looks decent over the season, extend it. If it doesn't, and hes a flop (or a Reda), we don't have to make a loss on him.

I didn't think he has been so injury prone of late, 84 games in 3 years with Sheff Weds and not often called upon last season because Kerion Westwood had the #1 slot there.

Yep, safe pair of hands. He's made his money through the premier league so guessing that this won't be his main driver for a new club. A return home might suit him fine.

(I also have faith in Burge as back up).

He would be worth asking about but would probably get good money as a back up in the championship, good signing if it comes off..

He rejected Wednesday's one year contract extension offer saying he wants to play games, so clearly not that bothered about the money.

It's a yes from me.

But I believe if we retain Reda and sign Rickets Burge will be a much better goal keeper next season with that pairing in front of him and if we didn't get Kirkland come the end of next season we wouldn't all be saying "oh, if only we'd signed Kirkland"

Yes, definitely. Would be one of the best, if not the best, goalkeeper in this division.

Yes yes yes. If he played his experience would help keep the defence focussed but calm. Just having him at the club would be invaluable for burgers development.

Depends on wage demands and fitness.

This is the world of football, so it has to be at least 110%. '100% sign him up' only equates to you maybe wanting him here in terms of the football world..

An injury free keeper of the calibre of Kirkland, a keeper that actually catches crosses and commands his area...No Brainer, Yes of course.

The likelihood is that he will find another Championship club easily unless he wants to come back to Cov area.

Got to be the better option than Burge. Are we forgetting all the free kicks over the walls and multiple mistakes capped by a shocker against Crewe at the end of last season?

Yes far better than what we have and probably a good honest pro to bring the younger keepers along.

Believable tbh, they've lost Bogdan and Lonergan.
