If a new broom rides into town will they stick with the present manager ? I don't think the American, if it's him, would know one manager from another. For me I think they should initially but pressure is sure to be on immediately and promotion will be a minimum requirement and being well in the top 2 or 3 straight away.
Despite reservations on here i think Steven Pressley can cut it with the right backing and resources, just wonder what Elliott and Hoffman think.

I think they would stick with pressley to try gain some stability they keep saying they are after. Would be a contradiction to come in and swap managers right away. I'm still unsure about pressley, though I haven't seen a live match with him so can't have a full opinion.

It will depend on results and whether Pressley would of been in the reckoning if Joe and Gary were involved with the Club, will the stigma of SISU be attached to SP? could it be a case of new start all round, I hope he is given a chance after all he moved to England and uprooted his young family and in my humble opinion seems to be making the most of a very bad and difficult situation.

The bloke needs time, and with the right backing who knows what he can acheive. There should be no extra pressure put on Pressley as he would be fully aware of the task in hand.

The problem I have with foreign owners can be their unpatient streak, just look at Blackburn for example.

No No No No No. He has taken us backwards. Possession football for the defenders.........then hoof. Without Cyrus Christie we would never get in the final 3rd of the pitch. Pathetic.

New owners pretty much always bring in their own manager.

I don't he would be sacked within five minutes of the club being taken over, but because he isn't the man they want it may be a case of trying to find the first excuse to sack him and make it sound justified.

I tend to agree...but would also want to give him time to build his own team and seek stability.

Pressley should be given time, but I think it's highly unlikely he would get any if the takeover is done quickly. The only manager over the last 6-7 years who had an eye for quality players was Dowie and his sidekick brother.(Dann and Fox) say no more. If there was to be anew manager coming in, I would like to think Dowie would be given the chance to finish what he started.

Lets get Dowie Back -I actually rated him.

Dowie was released from his contract as Coventry manager, which was officially cited as being due to significant differences of opinion between the management team and the Board as to how the club should be going forward. - Wikipedia.

In his last few months his record was very poor and he signed a lot of very very poor players which ultimately saddled the club with a £12 million wage bill

He also was lucky as he had Misfud scoring for fun. Once that stopped he really started to struggle.

O.K Who would you have back? I didn't like Bothroyd, but mayb it isn't the manager who is the problem.

Sisu never had any intention of keeper Dowie and Flowers. They were treated dreadfully and everything possible was put in true way to make sure they failed!

As for new owners sticking with Pressley, im not sure! Preston obviously has a form of interest in football, something that SISU failed to have, and still today, fail to have, so im sure he will have an idea of what is required for where he wants to take a club

To be fair dowies record in the league was pretty average -
PL 43 W 15 D7 L 21 Win ratio 35% Loss ratio 49% 1.21 pts per game (55 over a season) - the points per game is almost identical to Coleman's 1.19 (54.5) and Adams - 1.26 pts per game (58).

And as for signings - Gray, Cairo, Dimi Kantstopalot, Simpson, Michael Hughes, borrowdale, De Zeeux, Simmonds......before ranson brought in Dann and fox

I've been accused of coming from "Planet Deluded"....What universe are you from?
Dowie was at CCFC for less than a season. Had very little money to spend on players, but bought Dann and Fox for buttons.
He was so crap as a manager that he did something no manager in generations could do.....beat MAN UTD 2-0 at OT.....and in the same year beat WBA away.....and again in the same year absolutely muller Blackburn at Ewood park.(All three teams were still in the Premier league at that time too)
Yet RR/SISU kicked him out for Coleman?!?!...A manager who struggles to win games with nearly lots of teams to pick a squad from.
Hoofroyd brings in a player on £12k a week wages...Don't remember Dowie being given that much to pay one(1) player with.
You say Dowie signed very, very, poor players on high wages Come on then...Who are they, and what wages were they on?....In other words Grenduffy, put up or shut up!
And none of your "Estimated Facts on wages either"

40.82% at Coventry. Anyway we're not going up, Haskell won't buy Coventry unless he is crazy, SISU will liquidate us, we need to play the youth team for the rest of the sason and start again with a fan share. I'm just sick of it.

I can only go on what I've seen and my initial thoughts are that I don't like the way the team are playing under Pressley.
Long balls to the single striker is not what I want.
Possession football but only by the back 4 and I never feel comfortable, Murphy eventually just doing a big kick.
Midfielders who always run back to the goal area to defend or running past the play into the box all waiting for a cross from the wide player with 2 on him.
Non of them anticipating and getting into space whether attacking or defending.
If they have any doubts about Pressley he needs to go with the SISU write off so we don't start by compensating a manager.

Dowies record at Coventry is one of the best win percentage of a Coventry manager record for the last 20 years
