I follow 2 teams. Ireland all my life because I was born and live there and Coventry for the last 40 years for reasons which I can't remember, think it was they were good to watch and always had some Irish connection such as Noel Cantwell as manager and other Irish internationals playing for them. This weekend I watched both teams live and it was dreadful.
It is the first time I have seen Coventry since all the new players arrived and I now understand why they are alll free transfers. Today there was no pace, no skill and no passion. Maybe a new manager can bring some system and confidence to this squad but I could just not believe how bad the performance was to-day. Then to see Steve Staunton at the match. Please no, no, no. I suffered too many matches with him as Ireland manager. The worst ever.
If it is any consolation,my beloved Ireland were even worse on Friday and won by pure fluke.
Why do we follow football. There must be something positive in life

I watched most of the game on TV as I
could not get up to the Ricoh. My brief analysis
was as follows:
1. No real passion in the side.
2. No real system in place
3. Off form players playing yet should be on
subs bench or out of squad.
4. Not enough pace in the side.
5. No creativity (hasn't been for years)
6. Basic passing skills lacking
7. Substitutions questionable.

Quick fix.
Get Christie in the side and play him right
midfield. Him and Clarke could do a job better
than Baker, Bell Thomas etc.
Get a settled centre back pairing although
I'd give Cameron a shout.
Mcgoldrick and Cody up front. Give them a few
games together.
Like the tigerish Jennings in midfield with Fleck when
he's fit. Barton not up for it yet.
Most of all we need what every footballer
needs to play apart from skill. Confidence.
New manager? I've heard every name mentioned
but i don't know. Maybe Billiy Davies,
McCarthy, Wise, Black or my own favourite
Ferguson.
Just a thought on today's game. Our best player
was McGoldrick, looked dangerous and scored
a very good goal. Why did he play left wing
when Cody came on?

Ferguson? Which one? The one who's trying to win the Premiership or the one that's bottom of the Championship?

The winner Ferguson not his pipsqueak
loser son.
