I'm a bit bored. Therefore I present to you the 2025 World Cup of Coventry City home kits. Since the birth of the sky blue era I reckon we've had 40 home kits (including the TV only 81-83 kit and ignoring the L2 play-off shirt).

The format will work like this. 8 groups of 5. The top 2 in each group will progress through to the knock-outs before eventually we will crown the winning kit the greatest of all-time!

I have randomly selected the first 5 kits for Group A and present to you the following (credit: historicalkits.co.uk):

03/04
08/09
86/87
97/98
10/11

Voting will close in 48 hours, and Group B will be in play tomorrow.

Cheers!

Anyone who votes for 10/11 needs their hard drives checking

That's my 2nd least favourite Cov shirt of all time behind the 13/15 shit show

The collar on the 10/11 kit is arguably the biggest atrocity to Coventry the Germans have ever done.

03/04 and 08/09 kits are nice but no match for the 86/87 or my winner, 97/98. An iconic kit that I’m desperate to add to my collection.

Despite the paranormal collar and boxy fit I'm going to sacrifice my hard drive for a kit that reminds me of playing jumpers for goalposts on the green followed by Mum's spaghetti carbonara, and Big Ben Turner and Richard Keogh making heroically clumsy last ditch tackles game after game to give me my first taste of CCFC challenging (briefly) at the top half of a table in my life.

Great Idea but you could just put 1977-78 egg timer up and be done with it!

I'm nailing my colours (sky blue) to the mast early.

I'm not a fan of stripes but at least the 08/09 kit has sky blue shorts and socks.

08/09 and the 10/11 ones are both truly awful kits, even though I did buy the 08/09 one! The cup final kit is brilliant for nostalgia reasons obviously but isn't a great kit either.
The other 2 Subaru sponsored kits are things of beauty imo

Just rewrite your fond childhood memories to include the excellent away kit instead.

That home shirt is an abomination

I remember there was a deal on this when they were first released. Buy the home shirt and get the away for £25 or something. The away kit is decent tbf.

City Link , had a TV they they were supposed to deliver stolen by one of their drivers, they simply didn't deliver. Got them to provide a replacement but it was hard work. Think they went bust soon after.

So 86/87 and 97/98 make it through group A without breaking sweat. Round 2 will be seeded so 97/98 will be up against a 2nd place finisher when the draw is made once the group stage is complete.

Cheers
Lee
