We need him to play. We have a solid defence if they all stay fit. The other players should look at him and give that little bit more.

Totally agree with you here Astute.

I hope Wood is in the team on saturday with Cameron because our defence is a lot stronger with those two in the middle!

Would like to see Christie brought in to replace Clarke though. I think Clarke needs a break as he's been a little suspect recently!

Christie could do with a good run in the side

I was quite surprised by Murphys comments in the CET today, publicly saying Wood and Cameron were his first choice CB's. wiuldnt really give confidence to the others (although im glad he didnt mention Brown)

Ronaldo, last season or end of season before, basically publically stated he preferred playing with Benzema over Higuain because it was better for his game! Murphy's getting big time saying things like that... I like it! Also, if he feels more comfortable behind those 2 (no jokes please) then fair enough.

Woody is solid and we need him hands down, how the feck is his form going downhill?! I would have Wood - Edge/Cameron in the centre. Depending on fitness and performance in training for the latter 2.

Woody gives 100% every game, but is technically poor and can't pass to save his life tbf the partnership is working well atm and hopefully it continues too. However any more cock ups from wood and i would give Jordan Willis a go with Cameron.

You don't want all your defenders playing the same way. Wood is what Keogh was last season in putting his head where it hurts and cutting out chances. Keogh never got hurt as much though. His nice smile shows he did at some time though. Then we have Cameron to do the rest.

That is why he had clubs after him at the end of last season. Wood isn't as bad as some say. Not a world beater but he can defend. You do need defenders that can defend and not go running up the pitch all the time.

Cameron was a beast against Swindon. Edge took time to settle when he came on. I really like Willis, but for me he should wait for his place.

he's a cock? maybe sometimes on the pitch, but he is an incredibly good man in real life he donates millions to charity, he helps children in africa and has never had a go at fans. how is he a cock?

Only overall from what I have seen, I think Edje did really well when he came in alongside Cameron recently and was unfortunate to pick up the injury, I wasn't at the Swindon game so can't comment (I'm guessing Woody had a good game), I really liked Woody early season, he was my first choice central defender, I thought he was struggling in a few matches covering for Brown, but since Brown has been out, there has been a few incidences where he has been turned far too easy, giving the opposition too much space and time in the box and other stuff that's made me go off him a bit.

Nothing against Woody, he gives 100% no question, I just think Edje alongside Cameron for me looked more solid and i'd prefer to see them starting for now.

just my opinion :thinking about:

Fair enough boss!

Still think that based on form under Robin's, Wood has been a lot better. When he went off (all be it reluctantly) and Edj came on at Swindon, it was only a matter of minutes before their first goal went in and Edj was (correct me if im wrong) the person they turned to score the goal.

Edj strikes me as a person who needs to be on from the start as he seems to take a little while to get in the games.

I might be wrong though, maybe he just needs a decent run in the team etc!

He has got better and better this season. He leads the back four well, can only be good for the like of Cameron. He had storming game at Swindon last week and I'm still convinced if he had stayed on the pitch the 3 points would have been our. I think he is ideal for the league, not the most gifted, but strong and real battler.

Wood is our defensive leader this season, and when he went off on Saturday we lost all our organisation resulting in us conceding 2 goals in 3 minutes when we were looking reasonably comfortable for 70 minutes.

Although he's had some shite games this season, he's definitely improving and we do need him in the team right now.

Woody must be an inspiration for the young guys like Cameron,Willis,Clarke and Christie-to see him getting a hammering week in week out and getting back up again and saying "bring it on!!".

If it were me in there alongside him I wouldn't want to let him down for his bravery alone, so I would hope that these young 'uns (including Edge) must be ready to bust a gut to help him out as it were.
He must be either as hard as f**k or mental to keep sticking his head in, and that is at both ends of the pitch!
Well done Woody, it would seem you are actually playing for the shirt !:claping hands:

I would like to see a few more goals from set peices scored by Wood as well.

Always a pleasure to see a defender getting a goal or two!

Didn't we go for a long period a few years back where no defenders scored any goals for us at all?
