Astronomers have discovered a rock, described as 2013 TV135 and measuring 1345 feet, as moving through the Camelopardalis constellation.
Scientists at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory said the rock could pass by, or hit earth with an explosion equivalent to 2,500 megatons of TNT.
The date? August 26, 2032.
It’s force will be 50 times greater than the most powerful nuclear bomb.
Better hope Coventry are playing at Northampton that day. There should be few casualties.
This once proud club display all the outer signs of a city hit by a blitz.

Although you have to go back to the days when Wolverhampton’s Barbara ‘Babs’ Lord, of Pan’s People fame, would jive to the tunes of Coventry’s Specials or Fun Boy Three on Top of the Pops.
The Lunatics, have indeed, Taken Over The Asylum.
Wolves have spent most of the last 21 years playing the part of Charles Dickens’ other memorable character: Miss Havisham, haunting the pages of Great Expectations.

Ever since Sky Television invented football in 1992, they have been living on memories, the ghosts of Wright and Broadbent and of Dougan and Cullis.
Their fall from the summit of the British game severe. But at least they have a home. At least they have hope.
Wolves’ decline since relegation from the Premier League in April 2012 has been sharp. Fletcher, Jarvis, Kightly all gone.
But their fans now sing the names of Griffiths, Henry and, for the moment at least, Sako.
They’re not playing great but they’re too good for the third tier, principally because their big players make the difference.
And that difference is presently being seen mainly on away grounds where they have just that little bit more space when teams come at them.
Wolves should make one small step back up the ladder towards redemption come May. But the Premier League looks a long way off. Another season of parachute payments gone.
Perhaps they could just about make the big time before that asteroid hits. On this evidence it may be a close call.
The Sky Blues’ fell from the Premier League at Villa Park in May 2001. Moustapha Hadji’s brace not enough to prevent a Villa comeback.
They spent the next decade haunted by the ghosts of 1987, of Dublin and Whelan, of Ndlovu and Huckerby and of McAllister and Shaw.
Steven Pressley has got together a fine young team of battlers. But there’s little to suggest they can trouble the top six in the third tier. How could they? Not with fewer than 2,000 folk bothering to see them at Sixfields. Not with a board displaying such blatant disregard for the punters.
And you thought Steve Morgan was a menace. Morgan’s only vice was his ability to make staggeringly bad footballing decisions. But even those appear to have been reversed: the arrival of Kenny Jackett and promotion of Kevin Thelwell, and Jackett’s ability to spot a player and sign him for the cost of an extra bowl of gruel. James Henry being one such player. His loan will become permanent in the New Year. He was refreshingly direct in his wing-play here.
But even with Henry and Kevin Doyle doing all they could to manufacture momentum, Wolves struggled to break down City’s spirited rearguard, just as they had against Crawley, against Sheffield United and against Walsall.
And, in truth, a good many folk are a little restless. How could that be? Wasn’t this a ten game start right up there with the very best Stan Cullis’ braves could muster? A win against Oldham tomorrow and this loss of home form will be seen as a blip.
Another setback and that blip becomes a worry. And the question as to whether Wolves should simply cash in on Bakary Sako will resurface. It never was going to be a straight road back to the Championship.
At least there’s a 99.9 per cent chance of that asteroid missing.
