Don't think EMC gets straight back in currently with the way BTA is playing

Lampard tends to play EMC whenever he can, I would expect Sakamoto to make way.

We all know what they can add, but having BTA - Eccles - Sakamoto on a high press has been very effective in a different way.

Not me, two of our most creative players out and we scored 7. The players on the pitch have been superb.

It was only a few weeks ago that some concerns were the goals drying up and a leaky defence. It's a funny old game

Eventually though with Torp out injured and a prognosis unknown. A midfield with Eccles and Allen as starters is going to limit our chances of success

Obviously we have EMC back now, but looks like we may have to do it on Saturday without Rudoni, Torp and Eccles. Not ideal.

I think with high energy pressing game we play, there is a case for earlier substitutions to keep those levels high and effective, and the players ready to go again in what can be just days. We need value substitutes more. Not as players who didn’t make the first team but as the players who come on and effectively win us the match. It should be something we value and the players feel proud of doing

Our squad isn’t really big enough to properly go for the top 2 in my opinion. If we’re there in January the only hope is Doug takes a gamble and we gets a few in.

We’re having to bring Kai on which in reality isn’t a championship winning squad

Nice problem to have. EMC strikes me as someone who will probably have quite a few injuries so it’s good to have the cover. Allen for Torp possibly on Saturday. No problem

Without Rudoni and EMC getting into pockets of space and playing through the lines we’ve been forced to go more direct and it’s worked.

Yep. Opening goal again last night. Just shows a mix of approaches works. Keep the ball when you can. Go long when it’s too risky.

We might have to move Saka into the middle to cover the injuries and bring EMC in that way

Lampard said Torp got a bang on the ankle same as his injury last season but hopefully it’s just soreness

might be fine for at least the squad Saturday I would have thought

Shall we pretend to go for the top 2 then?

We're 2 points and a GD of +10 above 3rd place. Our GD of 15 is more than the amount of goals any other side has scored. We have just won our last 2 games scoring 7 goals without reply with having Rudoni and EMC injured that we were not supposed to have replacements for.

This is a squad game. When games are won we can afford to bring on players for the experience while resting our best players.

He was limping a fair bit but didn't look too serious. We will soon find out.

Full internation player, more than capable of doing a job against Sheffield Wednesday (if called upon) in fact it might be the ideal game to give him a start if Eccles and Torp are out.

Lats could also do the job, and he's another full international.

Then there is EMC, KKH, Woolfy and Simms to throw on, that's over £15million pounds worth of talent right there.

Then there's trusted experienced heads like Allen and Bidders

If only we had some depth ay !

Agreed but even more so in the last 2, credit to Lampard and the coaching team for adapting.

Lati?? Your having a laugh. Kai against a full flowing champ team end of season everything on the line?

It’s along season just wait until the business end when your Leicester, Sheff u, Southampton, Ipswich ,Middlesbrough get flowing with their full depth squads and if we have a few key injuries it’s not going to be as rosy as it is now.

Brilliant start but people should be keeping their feet firmly planted on the floor as we all know how grueling that championship is.

And if we do get to the play offs again is Haji still your man?

I wasn't talking about the end of the season, im talking about Saturdays game against a depleted Sheffield Wednesday who will be asking their inexperienced kids to play the third game in 8 days.

We have a transfer Window in Jan where im sure we will add whatever Lampard says he needs.

Until then its 1 more game till the international break then 10 or 11 weeks to utilise our current squad.

We can do that till Jan surely.

If if if. But but but.

Don't you understand about having a squad?

A few key injuries? You mean like Rudoni and EMC?

Yes it's a long, hard season. It's also a long, hard season for every other side. We most probably have the best 1st 11. The players we have to bring into the 1st team are mainly better than many try to make out. We've hardly even used Woolfenden and KKH yet and both of them are quality. We've only conceded 1 goal in the last 4 games yet continue to score plenty.

Yes we will have more difficult times during the season but that's the same for everyone.
