Based on the likely starting 11 of tomorrow, I would say we need 5 defenders, 1 CM and 1 striker

Season of struggle with that side, but still the results in August don't seem to count as it seems to have been written off.

Looks like you can cross rose of the team sheet now and it will leave us with a woefully small squad with no proven striker, no defence worth spaking about and no real back up in midfield.
I can see this season being anti climax to last when we all thought the club was going to build on

Never understood how you can enter the season needing 4/5 players surely a missed opportunity of the pre season and as far as I remember games in August are still worth 3 points, I get the late loans for some players but the quantity we need could be damaging to our chances.

we did it last year and had the best 3 months of the past 20 years
we started the season at sixfields and had less players so its backs to the wall

expect 4 in within the month

Yeah I know , sadly I think we may have another dud
Hope I'm very wrong.
Reid Lameiras jones spence ( and one of those twins) are surely scary for any defence??

George thomas may just grow a pair too and become the goal scorer the Club obviously thinks he can be.

Surely judge it til the end of the month. Mowbray wouldn't be here if he couldn't do something.

The problem is, first it was 8, then it was 7, we sold Vincelot and signed one other, now it's four.

To be able to realistically hit the playoffs this season we need half a dozen new players as an absolute minimum.

Mid table unless the next few weeks of transfer activity are very successful.

I think we will get more goals from Thomas than Sordell but the problem with Thomas is he starts at 100mph then goes missing...hope he improves on that and has a great season

We never needed 8 as we already bought in gad and jones
We've sign a couple more this season
I would say 100% that 4 is all you will see

Would love to be full of optimism and say top 6 but I really think we'll struggle unless some of these 6 bodies Mowbrays talking about come to fruition.

As it stands lower mid table finish. With a couple of well placed loans and a couple of strong CB signings, who knows, 10th upwards

Fair enough, but I'm telling you now, if we bring in only 4 players, we'll fall short.

Remember feeling pessimistic at the start of last season and thinking we wouldn't win a game in August. But my doubts were unfounded as we got off to a flyer didn't we . So Iets wait and see as football is a funny old game !

Think we will start badly then fade, followed by a string of wins in the new year* that will see us stay up with a game left to play....same sh*t different year basically

* following TM resignation

these ARE the rantings of a miserable disillusioned pi**ed off, long suffering fan but lets see how far off the mark I am shall we?

Throughout Pre Season they have continually kept on about how well we are playing in the new formation etc so thats promising, if we can get the bodies which Mowbray wants then we have got to be pushing for the play offs, if not, I expect our form to fall away quite rapidly as the youngsters begin to struggle. Thing is though, teams in this league are now beginning to spend money... or at least in terms of wages.

Reading the Smellygraph and a Swindon fan is saying the same things as us about his team.

Right now I'd say with that squad we will struggle. There is no steel, little physicality, a poor defence, a keeper that doesn't dominate his area and an over reliance on one striker. All that said I don't know too much about our opponents at this level and what they can pitch up against us, plus this surely means that even at this late stage we have only half built our first team.
The best thing about CCFC { despite the idiotic criticism from some quarters on here } is our support, especially away !
