All these Managers are out of work for a reason, surely if they are the answer, they would be ripping up trees at other clubs, not currently out of work ?
Shouldn't we be trying to "tempt" someone who is working and currently doing a excellent job somewhere else.
I know people say we couldn't afford the compensation, but the likes of Ince, Wise ect' won't come cheap anyway !

I for one, on this occasion hope we don't go down the same old road, and try a up and coming manager instead I've touted Gary Neville and I know that wouldn't happen, but we need someone with his kind of knowledge and forward thinking.
A gamble ? perhaps , but isn't everyone

I think if I recall there is only 2/3 clubs in the 4 tiers that currently don't have a manager (I could be wrong). So maybe their services aren't needed there or maybe the club isn't prolific enough for them...?

I'd like to hear more different suggestions too, WEA. There must be some hidden gems out there. Assuming we can't think too expensive (and I guess Neville would be), Wilder and Abbott were interesting ideas. I have suggested Derek Adams of Ross County - it looks like he's been doing a great job up there but no one seems to have heard of him. I'm not sure people want to consider someone unless it's a 'name'.

Abbott for the job, failing that Wise (prob best realisitc unemployed manager)

I liked Tisdale, but after seeing Exeter fans' views on him, just sounds like Thorn, they use pretty much the same reasons why people didn't like Thorn!

I hope we don't play 4-4-2 though and play 'Hoofball'!

Everyone seems to have dismissed Tisdale based on that one Exeter forum post that is going around but having lived in Exeter for several years I would say that he's generally pretty popular. Also, if you read further on in that forum everyone seems to change their minds and start liking him again after they won the following two games, we obviously aren't the only fickle fans around!

As far as I'm concerned though he has everything we're looking for: young, plays good football, proven with absolutely no budget

If someone could explain the current obsession with Wise to me that would be very much appreciated.

Pep and Harry are both out of work. Just because someone is unemployed it doesn't mean they are rubbish.

Wise left his role due to a fallout with Keegan.

While i agree unemployed managers are unemployed for a reason.. I think Wise is our best choice.

Didn't we tempt Aidy Boothroyd out of Colchester? That didn't exactly work out well in the end.

I'm pretty sure they will go for WISE - he's a name, he's available, his management record is pretty good to be fair

His win ratio looks alright, but he does have a relegation to his name too...

Fair point but he is a ballsy little bastard, obviously suffers from 'small man syndrome' - I don't think this is going to be a shrewd long-term appointment - think they are looking to make a big impact immediately - I think Wise can deliver that much at least

We probably do need some shaking up and I don't doubt Wise wouldn't shake things up a bit, but would he shake them up too far?

Absolutely right - he's be a gamble for sure - definitely not a yes man - might be too much of a handful for Fisher

I would be happy to go with either Tisdale or Abbot, both are realistic targets, I'm fed up of "Big Name" appointments, obviously Thorn being the recent exception to the rule.

Ince returned to management on 28 October 2010, signing a three year deal with Notts County. 3rd April 2011 he left the club by mutual consent after losing a club record 9 games in a row!!

Yeah quick sign him up

all because a manager is unemployed, it doesnt mean they are crap! Redknapp being an example (and before people say i am unrealisitic, i am not suggesting we pick him!). Wise would be my choice but also Billy Davies would be good, not pretty football but a good manager at this level.
