Callum Wilson just posted on Instagram that he will be out for 6-8 weeks! We now need a proven replacement.
What happened to that Yeovil striker who was top scorer in league one last year. Did he go anywhere in the end ?

Could of been worse

Paddy Madden is the guy you're thinking of and I believe he is still at Yeovil

Yeah that's the one ccfc, maybe he would be good signing on 3 month loan or something?

Probably very unlikely he'll drop down a division or that we could afford him but Le Fondre is apparently not too happy with not getting games at Reading and pushing to be loaned out. Can't be too many proven scorers around who are available, will probably have to take a punt like we did with McGoaldrick and hope someone who hasn't been scoring can hit some form playing in our system.

Needs sorting quickly, so we can push on.

6 to 8 weeks isn't as bad as I thought it would be ... but agree, we need cover, that international striker we've just signed I presume will be Pressley's answer.

possibly not. he's out of favour at Yeovil, i don't think he's started yet this season (someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong).

Kevin Philips would be my choice, a great goal poacher and he would score goals and keep at least two defenders on him allowing the midfield to attack.

His contract has been paid up and he just wants to play out the season and end on a high.

nice idea. i hope he doesn't want big wages. the youngsters would benefit from by training with him too. i cant believe someone can play as long as he has without a good training ethic.

Philips does not fit Pressley's player profile! Would be far too expensive anyway.

We are interested in Paddy Madden, as we were a couple of months ago.

Phillips is a great player, not a good idea for us though. Wages too high and best coming off the bench.

Philips would be a good shout on a "pay as you play", and at the moment, we can guarantee him games
Madden would be a useful stop gap on a short term loan
ALF will go to Leeds and join up with McDermott

It's a difficult one, we need to bring something in who's going to fit into our way of playing and add some of the qualities wilson brings - I.e pressing and stretching play/going in behind and running the channels.

as much as I rate Phillips, I don't think he would fit into the way we play and the pressing only works if everyone is doing it.

ALF is too good for League One and would easily find another Championship club. Hasn't Madden been overlooked due to lack of workrate?

The Telegraph understands League Two Scunthorpe will also rekindle previous interest in Yeovil Town’s out-of-favour front man Paddy Madden as they look to further their promotion push.

United are also likely to face competition for his services, with the likes of Leyton Orient and MK Dons both rumoured to be potential suitors.

My choice
1. Madden
2. Dagnall
3. Phillips

Phillips has been the better player but he is better now when playing behind a striker and we wont change.

Surprised no-ones mentioned Jamar Loza returning. Pressley seemed interested in keeping him longer. He only went back to Norwich because he wasnt getting a look in because of the form of Wilson and Clarke.

Yes. No excuse. And the only response I ever see is "grammar nazi" etc.

Thick, ignorant or both. Write that shit on a CV and it's the first in the bin.

"Grammar nazi" and the like come from the cult of ignorance "it's not cool to know stuff". My personal pet hatred too.

On topic: hasn't Pressley already said we're bringing the Dutch lad in as a stop gap before he goes into the development team? Can't see him wasting wages on another short term player.

What makes you think the budget is sufficient for Waggot/Pressly to be choosy?
