It wasn't too long ago Sunderland fans were asking the same thing on Netflix for the world to laugh at as they bottled Wembley twice in one season.

Well, they may have had the last laugh tonight, but at least we don't have that on our record!

Our time will come.

Overreaction.

We've had some fantastic years recently. Sitting there with 5k others in league two I feel like that but not anymore. We've had two Wembley wins and two Wembley very nearlys with a league championship thrown in too.

We're a solid stable club and will go again.

There's a few teams in the EPL that went through heartbreak a few times before finally breaking through. We are knocking on the door and will make it through one day. It's not our time yet. We have some glaring deficiencies to fix first.

Let’s look at it this way. We’re in a nice warm corner at the moment having been shut out on a cold winters day for years.

The club is being run properly finally. We need to upgrade the squad again and we go again.

Keep the faith.

Remember where we’ve come from, upwards trajectory.

Players will learn from this, hopefully sparks a fire in them to start next season the right way, none of this fucking about and slow start.

Make Grimes captain, give Lampard the tools he needs and he’ll take us back up.

We could and should of won that game in normal time, but Lampard seemed to think wright was playing brilliantly, unlike most of us who thought he was a lazy Yankee twat

Been supporting the club for 44 years and the last 3 years have been amongst the best. 17th in November to tonight's drama. What a season. I think we all know we are not quite ready for promotion but boy are we knocking on the door.
Saddle, our time will come and when the dust settles I am sure you will reflect positively on where we are right now. #PUSB

Keep the faith. We've had a fucking brilliant last 5/6 years. The club is on another planet to what it was prior to COVID.

We've got to back them from minute one next season.

I spent the first 15 years supporting this club thinking I’d never see us at Wembley. Whatever way the result goes, it’s great to be involved in games of such magnitude, it beats finishing between 15th-19th year in year out.

You know what I think we should reflect when days like this happen. Its shite, no one will tell me otherwise but my god, even with this loss this is the best Coventry have been in my lifetime.

I was raised on 19th being the highest I ever saw cov finish before we tumbled down the leagues, lost our home and what fourth. Been to protests where coffins were passed around.

I have faith we’ll break that door down but even if not, I’m happy I can watch top half championship in Coventry (plus it’s rude to keep going Wembley, got to allow someone else a go )

It will happen. And it will taste even sweeter when it does.

I have seen massive improvement in some players this year and really looking forward to what Lampard does in the summer. We have got some very good players, add a proper number 9, some back up out wide, a new goalie and a backup right back and we are ready to have a right good go.

It’s possible to recognise how far the club has come in under a decade while also being sick to the stomach of losing in the most cruel ways possible 3 years in a row.

These aren't dark days!

They're by far the best they've been since we were in the Prem!

Sulk away.

But describing consistent appearances in genuinely massive games, positive results, an engaged fanbase and a squad that genuinely seems to care about playing for us as 'dark days' makes you sound like.... well, a Sunderland fan, frankly.

We were in the mix for promotion, we’ve featured as a main game all over the world tonight in front of millions of football supporters watching in bars everywhere.
A few years back we were being run into obscurity by the most vile owners in football

Let's look forward to:
1) Learning the lessons from this campaign and starting next season strong.
2) FL having a full summer, preseason and season to work with.
3) Having Torp and Dovin back. Hopefully a new goalie as well until Dovin returns to the first 11.
4) The sale of Vik and hopefully Hamer
5) Sales of players who are not good enough to take us up while retaining a strong nucleus of those who will take us up.
6) New recruits to make us better and stronger

The squad as it currently is have proven its good enough to make the playoffs next season. With a few quality additions we could push for 3rd or 4th. Will be hard to break into the top 2 with parachute payments. Key will be to keep hold of the players we want to keep.

As a club it does feel like we’ve always been the bridesmaid, never the bride at this moment in time.

There’s lots to be optimistic about and with some good additions this summer, we’ll be right up there challenging for Top 4.

This is it, all through last night I just didn’t believe. It was like we all knew the outcome and as soon as Bobby headed it for a corner, I promise you I knew what was coming. All despite us playing actually pretty well and deserving so much more.

I’m really proud of almost all of them but really struggling with Haji today, he was awful last few games. No control, no fight, no quality, falling over… pathetic.
